I was afraid to post these photos, but things are going along so swimmingly well that it looks like we will close on July 3rd.
I have uploaded photos to a photo album….some from our first look early spring before leaves, and of our last visit.
This should give you a good idea of why I am in love with this place!
If you can’t view the slide show , click the image below to go directly to the album.
The nice thing is most furnishings will be included. We can take our time replacing items with what we really want….
SO EXCITED!!
Sorry if you get tired of hearing about this cabin again and again and again and again....but I just can't contain myself on this dream!
Cabin!! |
Today I hope to get that Elna Grasshopper out of its army green case and see about getting it up and sewing! SO FUN!
What a beautiful cabin! You even have firewood to get you started. I hope you can spend lots of time there. Love it, love it, love it!! I am so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. I hope everything goes just as it should. There seem to be several beds in need of quilts. Where is the sewing room?
ReplyDeleteWhat a blessing that cabin is for you guys :) Hope you plan on not just renting it out but having a quilt cam weekend or something so we can come and sew with you! lol Kathi
ReplyDeleteJust a rustic cabin in the woods...NOT!! It is beautiful! You have good reason to be so excited.Yes it is in need of some quilts everywhere but that will come with time. Can't wait for quilt cam at the new cabin.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks and sounds great Bonnie! The furnishings look very nice. Once you put some of your quilts on the beds and walls, it will transform into "your" cabin. I bet you will end up liking some of the furniture more once it becomes yours. And won't your antique mall browsing be more fun when you have a mountain cabin to decorate/furnish.....Congratulations (almost!)!
ReplyDeleteI saw that guest bedroom quilt (the pinky-mauve one) and thought, "I know what Bonnie's going to replace first!" Congratulations on finding the cabin of your dreams - may closing be speedy and uneventful - have fun making it your own!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! With your quilts on the beds and walls it will be perfect! I'm so happy for you and DH. I know you will make some wonderful memories there. I hope you are able to do quilt cam from there so we can "share" it with you. I can understand why you want to talk about it. I certainly would too!
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! So happy for you. I hope you make tons of wonderful quilty, family memories here. You work so hard it is wonderful that you will have a beautiful retreat to run and relax in!
Faith in Maine
I was just thinking that all it needs is some quilts on the walls to make it all yours Bonnie... and of course, all the parking space! that is really a bonus... just sitting on the porch and looking at the scenery and the mountains... what an inspiration.. so how long will it be before you have a new quilt designed with your new home in mind?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I can see why you are excited. I love the staircase. It will be relaxing to drink coffee in the morning in those rockers.
ReplyDeleteFabulous! I'm so happy for y'all~~and (can't lie) a weeeeee bit green. I would have to be drug away forcibly to leave such a sweet spot.
ReplyDeletecongrats! What a gorgeous "cabin" kinda cool that everything in the home stays as well
ReplyDeleteOh how peaceful! So many possibilities for you to put your special touch everywhere. I love the little gazebo, every room, the tool shed, all the fire wood ready for winter. Just can't figure out what that big black thing is at the top of the stairs? I can just see a Christmas tree in the den. Hope you can cut your schedule down a little next year so you can enjoy it more. Happy for you.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a dream come true. I am so happy for you! (And how far in time and miles from your "regular" home?
ReplyDeleteOh! Maybe you could have some "treadle retreats"!
Well, nothing wrong with the furnishings. A few quilts on the beds and it's Bonnie-ized. I am very jealous. I have a mind's eye picture of Bonnie sitting in a rocker on the porch while hand quilting.
ReplyDeleteI would NEVER leave! It is perfect and beautiful, right down to the furnishings! You are truly blessed and so deserving of a place like this!

ReplyDeleteIt' is so awesome that the buyers were motivated and that you will get to enjoy your dream cabin so soon. I'm with Janet O, we need to plan a joint trip to your 1st Fellow Blogger's retreat! How many Red White and Blue quilts do you have to Celebrate? Maybe you can get one made quick...

ReplyDeleteLove the cabin - it reminds me of a very nice B&B we stayed in in NC. Hope you enjoy your getaway as much as I enjoyed the B&B.

ReplyDeleteThis is YOUR blog, brag all you want! I would be pinching myself to make sure my good fortune was for real. You are deserving, no need to apologize.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about making memories. Like you I turned 50 in last couple years. I live in KY, dear aunt and uncle from Florida have a summer retreat in western NC. For the last 40 years I have spent summers there off and on. I have memories there as a child and so do my grown children. Their house is much like yours minus those spiral staircases. Beautiful country. Enjoy! Did you ever say? How close did you get it from home? I know you were trying to keep it around 2 hours. I think this is wonderful for you and your family.
Rondi
I love the staircase and all the fireplaces. The kitchen is wonderful too, but if I had a cabin like that, I'd just sit on the porch all day, enjoying the view and sewing my heart out.
ReplyDeleteI call dibs on the rocker by the fireplace :-) I think I saw 4 bedrooms? are you gonna have retreats :-) well--you deserve a place to get away from it all! love the scenery! Carole
ReplyDeleteBonnie- The "cabin" looks like a dream come true, nd very familiar to me... My husband and I just installed hardwood floors in a home with the exact same exterior footprint, and probably the same floorplan, and I fell in love with those decks while we were working there. The home we were working in was in a similar landscape in WV, so I can imagine how peaceful and relaxing your getaways will be! Hopefully it is close enough to your home that you willl get the chance to enjoy it often! congrats again!
ReplyDeleteI'm not tired of hearing about your fantastically wonderful cabin! I'm living vicariously through you. Your cabin is a gem of a place. I'm sure you make many memories (and quilts!) there.

ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful! Definitely the type of cabin I love! Can't wait until you add some quilts to it. Definitely needs that!!!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, what a wonderful cabin. I just love that knotty pine. Reminds me of my parents cabin in Minnesota woods my dad built so many years ago. I could just picture all the hand sewing happening on that porch! Best wishes Lucky Duck!

Wonderful, and great views. I have a small house so that looks more like a mansion than a cabin to me. You and your family will have a great time making memories there.
