Quilting Quarters Floors!

This was the welcome sight upon my arrival at Quiltville Inn yesterday - and the QPO Studio where I start to put my work life back in order after 2 1/2 weeks gone -

FLOOR REFINISHING TIME!

I've wanted to do this for quite some time - and I thought we were settled on a June 2024 time slot as our guys didn't think they could fit us in during January.

But a last minute postponement of another job gave us the opening we need in the nick of time.,

It all began yesterday.

Milford Sound or Bust!

I can't believe it's been nearly 3 weeks since I took these photos and I'm finally getting to share them with you!

Sheep!  Sheep everywhere - and I loved every sheep traffic jam that we encountered -

This one was on our bus adventure - a two hour ride down to Milford Sound where we boarded a vessel and sailed out through wondrous mountains dotted with amazing waterfalls.

It was a dream come true!

You Gotta Start Somewhere!

Good Morning, Quiltvillians!

At least I think it is still morning.

This trip started off and ended the same way - plane delays, flight cancelations and re-bookings and a whole lot of terminal time.

Our 8pm flight was set for departure out of LAX - but ended up being 3 1/2 hours on the runway due to a maintenance issue, needing paperwork signed off, then needing more fuel, and before they could get it all done our pilots and crew had timed out.

That lead to being bussed back to the terminal from where we had been sitting (It must have been the furthest corner of the tarmac because that bus trip seemed to go on forever at that hour.)

Then it was 2 hours more of standing in a line waiting for one gate agent to take care of us with hotel vouchers one-by-one.

It was crazy - they finally got more people to help, but by the time I got a hotel room it was 2:30am.

Packing Day!

It's pouring out.

It started in the wee small hours - I heard it somewhere in the back of my dreams and the rain and the sound of it hitting the metal roof above my head brought it into whatever scenario was playing out in those dreams.

Weird how that happens.

It's now 8:15 am and it is dark and foggy and all around yuck outside.

However - it's bright in the studio, and it's my packing day for my New Zealand trip with Craftours.

It's finally happening.  We are going. I'm *ALMOST* ready.

Early Birthday Surprises!

Happy Monday Morning - and first things first!

Items have started to appear in the Quiltville Zazzle Store.  And when I mean slowly, I mean that so far only the mug has been made available - and it only appears through THIS LINK.

It may be a few days before the store has all of the Indigo Way merch uploaded, but I'll keep you in the know.

I'm showing the 15 oz mug here - my favorite - as the 10 oz one doesn't leave enough room for adding creamer when I use the 10 oz size on my Keurig.

If you are ordering the 15 oz size - be sure you have that option checked.

Again, we thank Forest Jane for all of this swag she makes available to us - and we love knowing that the proceeds go toward all the supplies she needs to offer free sewing/crocheting/crafting classes through her local library, putting all of this into the hands of those who wouldn't be able to afford to learn otherwise.

This is taking "Each One Teach One" to new heights, and I thank you all for being part of it!

Badges & Best Intentions -

For those wanting our yearly mystery quilt badges made by the loving hands of Forest Jane - here you go!

This one above is 400 X 400. I've posted it here in "original size" and you should be able to just right click and save.

These logos are great for printing onto labels.  Feel free to use these on your own blogs and social media to let folks know you played along.

A Runaway Day -

.

I sat down to write this post - and I've been trying for the past hour to get photos to upload and it was just not working.

Things spun and spun and then go blank, no photos.

I was about to head to my office, spend some time on the treadmill, work on a project - and give up on this post for today, and then I thought "But what about FRIDAY'S POST?!"

I tried one more time.  And I got the header photo to load.

BREATHE!

Now lets see if we can get some others to come through -

Pineapple Detritus!

I walked into the basement studio this morning - Coffee in hand and the morning sun shining right on my pineapple mess just as I had left it yesterday.

I had stopped stitching when it was time for dinner - I left things just as they were, simply reaching over to flip the switch on the power strip that controls my slim light, the machine, and my iron.

I fully intended to come back to where I left - it's rare that I will leave a block so close to completion unfinished - but dinner beckoned, and won the battle evidently.

Hello, 2024!

When the snow barely covers the ground it reminds me of a powder sugar dusted spice ginger cookie.

I took this photo Saturday morning on my way over to the inn -

Once I got past my gate and onto the road things were dry, it was just getting down the drive that was only slightly dicey.

By afternoon things had melted enough that the drive wasn't covered.

All we are left with a few days later is just some pockets where the sun doesn't shine - and the rest is just....BROWN.
