I am attaching a little screenshot of a text conversation that happened this afternoon –
Question #1:
Was I almost home? No!
I actually didn't leave the Atlanta area until afternoon as I made an appointment for a massage for this morning with one of my students from my earlier visit to Georgia a couple weeks ago.
I'm dealing with some bursitis in both hips – very painful, and it really flares up when sitting for a long time as was about to happen with this car drive.
On long car drives, it is advisable to stop every once in a while and walk around!
What kind of places do I like to walk around?
Question #2:
Was I buying anything? :-)
I know by the pictures below you will find the answers to the questions posed by the hubster :-)
More info to follow tomorrow – I just walked in the door about 15 minutes ago and I don't even have the energy to unload the van tonight.
I plan to tuck myself into bed with a good book and read until I fall asleep.
I plan to awake when I awake in the morning with no alarm clock.
I plan to enjoy every bit of every day of the next nine days home :-)
Already there are questions on when I plan to do quilt cam next – I need a couple days to get back to normal, and to spend some time with my family. So I am thinking Sunday afternoon, 2 PM Eastern might work.
Stay tuned, and I will let you know! :-)

Hi!
ReplyDeleteIs the black sewing machine a Singer or a white? I love old ones.
Susan
Susan, It looks to read "National" ... it's pretty!
DeleteYou sure run into an interesting and wide variety of machines. Can't wait to hear about them. Rest, relax--we will wait.
ReplyDeleteLove the "Household" - great colors and I love old heavy machines they stand up so much longer :D Great finds, wish there were places out here to go, not many antique stores :(
ReplyDeleteBless your heart... So sorry to hear you are hurting. Yes, please sleep in!~ Get up , have breakfast and go back to bed. You DESERVE it!~ I don't know how you do all you do. I can't drive much anymore, use to drive and love it. Wears me out now.
ReplyDeleteLooks really interesting! I'll be waiting as well, to hear all about your latest finds! Snuggle up real good with your book and get some rest. You surely need it as you seemed to have non-stop adventure! *Hugs*
ReplyDeleteLove the new machines! I found a Centennial 66 for $30... Going to go get it this weekend, and see what I need to do to it to either treadle or hand crank it... Still looking for my future Featherweight. My husband is beginning to hate to hear the words "Quilt-Cam", because he knows I am more determined every time I watch, that I am going to find a vintage girl of my own to bring home. I did want to ask you about the quilt display stands that you use for your class samples... Are they the ones from Craftgard, and if they are-how do you like them? I have been considering buying a set for use when displaying the charity raffle quilts that I make and donate for Autism Centers of Pittsburgh Fundraising purposes. (Of course I sit and sell the tickets while quilting the next raffle quilt, to help attract interest, so the stands would always be set up and taken down by me. Any advice or recommendations for a brand or style stand would be greatly appreciated!
ReplyDeleteI have a few " extra" featherweights. I can be contacted at sullivancj@fuse.net. This is not spam, but if u r interested in one let me know what u are looking for, age wise, condition. All of my machines ( I have about 6 that I need to sell) are working.some might need new feet, one would look better if repainted.
DeleteI love the one with the crank!
ReplyDeleteOOOOOHHHH, I see more vintage sewing in your future on the QuiltCam. I'm wishing you could bring a couple with you when you come to Portland... See you when you have had the rest time. You've had a very busy week or two.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear your bursitis flared up. You deserve a few days to relax after your long week.
ReplyDeleteLOL, Bonnie! I think you went shopping. Can't turn down a good antique shop! Stop worrying about everyone else for a few days .... worry about Bonnie! She's the one that we want to see feel better! Be careful tomorrow in the weather. {{{{Hugs}}}}
ReplyDeleteLol! I guess he knows you too well......
ReplyDeleteBonnie we all love quilt cam! But we also want u to take care of yourself. Don't let ur body or your family for granted. Take care of them first, and if there is time for quilt cam on Sunday we will be happy if not, that is OK too!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI may be interested in some feather weights...
Deletei'm thinking a bigger basement is going to be needed very soon.....LOL...great finds bonnie!
ReplyDeleteSLEEP IN!!! haha You so deserve that 'no alarm clock, no hassle' morning! We will be waiting patiently for the results of your 'road trip shopping'. And how silly of the hubster to ask those questions. lol

I agree with Carolyn S. No other quilt pro gives as much as you do so its just a bonus when QuiltCam is on. always enjoy it. Rest and see you when we see you. Joen in Tx
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie. I have been following your blog for a while and enjoy your mystery quilts. I actually took the plunge to make Easy Street. Not done but in the works. My question is I acquired a 1969 Singer. I have the original manual and a lot of the feet and such, where is the best place or process for finding missing feet and other attachments? I would love to find the original sewing table or case. Thanks for sharing your machines. I know mine isn't any where near as cool as yours but I am enjoying sewing with Thelma.
ReplyDeleteMargaret,
DeleteI'm not Bonnie, but I have had good luck finding things like this on ebay.
Silly question...of course you were shopping along the way. ;)
ReplyDeleteBonnie,
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile in England... I succumbed to temptation on the same day, but I only bought one. It spent the night in the car and I lugged it into the house this morning. I'll stop feeling bad for indulging myself during Lent. You are twice as guilty as me.
Love,
Muv
PS 1949 15K hand machine, RAF decals. It has snatched the title of My Newest Machine from my 1945 treadle.
PPS Bought husband four bottles of his favourite Italian wine today, 20 per cent off usual price. Cost more than the machine. Why should I feel guilty?
