I’m NOT! I don’t go until Thursday Morning ----I have an extra day in my week..and boy do I need it!
It also frees me up to enjoy some Quilt-Cam time without worrying that I don’t have everything ready for leaving ---and I’m ahead of the game because the quilts and cases of books, quilt stand, rolling cart and other things are already in the back of Shamu a day early!
This pic is from Deb B who wanted to show off her new Feathermate Table! I absolutely love mine and how it fits on only two sides of a vintage machine ---Flat bed machines only NEED extension on two sides!
She writes:
Another excuse for a mess, not that I need one. My new feather-mate fits great on my 301. Thanks for letting us know about these, and all that you do. I had a great afternoon sewing strings with you.I loved how coordinated her picture is!
Blue scraps, from ice-blue to royal to navy and blue plastic containers, and me in a navy blue shirt! We are SO rockin’ the blue!
What have you got to work on tonight? Bring a project, come sew!

could you tip the black lamp away from the camera???Hurts my eyes
ReplyDeleteSorry...I have been real light sensitive lately.
XOXOXO Subee who is still making Hexies
Better to think you are leaving the next day than thinking you have one more day and you really don't. I missed my plane once when I got my days wrong.
ReplyDeleteHey Bonnie...it great to get to see you three times in a week!! I love the quilt on your machine behind you! I also love that you are using your grandmothers machine, it is beautiful! Not working on anything tonight, got all my Thangles done for our guild exchange, so taking it easy tonight!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, today is my birthday and I am so happy to be able to spend some time with you tonight. I'm putting borders on a quilt top tonight and then I plan on sewing my moth in the window blocks together. I made these blocks and 4-patches awhile back when you were making yours but never got them put into a top. Now is the time!
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful...thanks for the close up....awesome!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS!!!!you got it...cannot stand it directly in my eyes. I have several lights on when I sew too...
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, do you bring your machine on your trip or are you doing hand sewing in your hotel room? Speaking of magnets, if you can find a place to put it, a magnetic knife rack is awesome to keep things close at hand. :0)
ReplyDelete~Christina in Cleveland... come and visit sometime! :)
thanks for the command strip tip for the scissors on the machine. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteLoved the story the other day about the studio accucut setup outside your van! LOL quilters are so ingenious.
Loved the Bug - also love the quilt behind you on your frame. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie!~ I think a cutting session on QUILTCAM would be GREAT!~ I think that many would love to watch you use your rulers and cut! I've seen you "Live and in Person" and would still love to see more it. Sorry I won't see you on Valentine's Day, but I'm hoping my "Dallas" will be there. You won't be "alone" on Valentines Day!~ :)
ReplyDeleteI had a VW pop up camper and use to say to my daddy that I wanted to paint flowers on it. Ever time I'd pull in the drive at home he'd say..."I was expecting you have flowers..."
I think her thought I'd SERIOUSLY do it. Wish I still has that bus.
Not sure if anyone has said anything about Westminster or not...my two yorkies are here watching it. What kind of dog would yo have? Just curious
DeleteI chuckled when I read your having an "extra day" post. Reminded me of a time when I asked as a guy who I was really interested in out to a theatre performance in Chicago featuring Brian Dennehy. Thought it was for a Saturday night and turns out it was for a FRIDAY night performance. We arrived to dark theatre. I was SO embarassed ... we had a nice evening anyway but everafter I checked and double-checked dates for events. Linda
ReplyDeleteEvening Bonnie. Aren't found days just the best???? Tonight I am attaching the bindings to two quilts for hand quilting in the car on the trip south. Warm weather here I come!!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie, I am watching QuiltCam while assembling my Easy Street blocks. I can't wait to get the quilt center completed. Thanks for doing Quiltcam again tonight. The Baptist Fan quilting on that quilt really is awesome. One day I want to do Baptist Fan quilting on one of my quilts.

ReplyDeleteLast week on web cam you read my post about my hand crank 99, today we got the 4 yr old grand daughter sewing on it.
Saturday I bought my first featherweight (a 1948) model. I can't wait to get it up and running. It needs a new cord and a light socket. The lady knock $75 off since I had cash!!! Case and all for $175 Woohoo!

Okay, I swore I was NOT going to get sucked into the latest craze of the scrappy trips-repeat NOT!!! Went to a sew-in today where there were "kits" to make quilts for our charity project. One was a baggie with strips in it that the gal in charge said was "like a jelly roll". Some very bright fabrics already cut into 2-1/2" strips but only 22" or less in length. Out fell 4 strips already sewn and I was hit in the head with "SCRAPPY TRIPS!!!" and so began to piece another quilt top! Oh, well, is for a good cause and I was almost caught up with my designated sewing for the month! Did finish the binding on a quilt that I just got back from my long armer today! So, guess I can do a scrappy trip this month.
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteHappy to be with you for Quilt Cam again tonight. Hand-quilting/embroidering a small piece (6" x 8" finished) to be matted for framing...and enjoying listening and watching as I stitch.
Friend of mine (who may be listening) was just given a Featherweight...not vintage but reproduction (I believe) from the last "wave"...but something tells me you've inspired another collector...
Have a great time on your next jaunt,
Margaret

What is the name of the green that you are using or was that a piece of fabric from your stash?
ReplyDeleteOk bonus for me I’m home early from work its 1.30 here in oz so am watching you while I what for my husband to arrive home. He rang to tell me he was sacked today so I needed to be here when he got home. We have a wedding to pay for as well as a new grandchild on the way but we will manage we always have.
ReplyDeleteHe's home now have to go Love watching you Please keep us in your prayers
DeleteCan you imagine in 100 years and the finders of 500+ Easy Street quilts will wonder ( if we do not label them) who influenced these quilters to such a degree! HA!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all the easy street quilts being finished!! I bet someday people will look at them and say "oh that was the style of the day"... the same way we look at old quilts and can identify them by style. Fun! Wondering if you might consider putting up another linky so we can see all the "new" easy street finishes?
ReplyDeleteAir conditioner and ceiling fans ARE running here! Azaleas and confederate jasmine blooming. Yellow pollen all over everything for weeks now

First time watching...I am watching the State of the Union but you are much more interesting!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about missing the color green. First time I deployed to the desert everything was beige - the sand, the tents, the sand, our uniforms, the sand... On our way home in March we landed in spring time England. The colors were so bright!
ReplyDeletewasn't a typo...I talk quilt...thanks for the info, I have never been to an IKEA, guess I should check them out.
ReplyDeletemy dgd age 4 was going through her stash to pick out fabric for a commisioned pincushion...she kept saying, 'no, i need to keep that...don't use all that...we finall found some she would turn loose of'
