I am being driven just a little bit nuts by THIS!
This is the tile floor in my hotel room bathroom in Cartersville, Georgia!
On first glimpse it was a squeal of delight! PERFECT!
But wait a minute –--- NOT so perfect:
UHOH!!
Oh goodness! Is the row upside down?
NOPE!
The 4 patches are rotated, turning the row upside down won’t fix this!
Would it drive you nuts?
Did the guild get a discount on a room with a wonky tile floor?
What contractor checked off this job as pass-able? LOL!!
Okay, I’m not the quilt police. I’m delighted to be here --- I just thought it was perfetly imperfect ----but at the same time I wish I could have a little “candid camera” installed to see if it drives the other OCD-ers just a bit nutso!
Jamestown Landing class in Dallas, GA ---FABULOUS!
Lecture with the Cartersville guild ---oh, these ladies spoiled me rotten, wait until you see!
It's been a long day, I'm headed to bed --- I'll try to close my eyes tight and not see the oops on the floor in my dreams!
I spied that immediately on opening this post. I'd be tempted to chisel it out and re-grout it in place if I were there more than one night--but I wouldn't. Really. Maybe.....
ReplyDeleteHaha!!! Yes, it popped right out at me. That thing would be under a towel or floor mat so fast!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you that it would drive me nuts. Like LynCC, I would throw the bath mat over it whether I was ready for a bath or not!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! That is so annoying, yikes.
ReplyDeleteI would be going totally bonkers!!! Just like Lynn said, the tub mat would be down so fast it isn't even funny, but I would still know it was there...
ReplyDeleteThe contractor should take a quilt class from you!! I would have to toss a towel over it. Funny... those four patch tiles reminds me of a certain mystery quilt pattern I'm currently working on (Easy Street!). :D
ReplyDeleteYep, put the mat over it and tell management about it when you check out! If that were in my home, someone would have to redo it, quickly!
ReplyDeleteAren't scrap quilts better with quarks? Haven't we had lessons on thinking outside the box? Could you see it from a galloping horse?
ReplyDeleteIt would drive me nuts
ReplyDeleteToo funny! I've lived in my new home for over 10 years and only just recently noticed that four tiles in my ensuite are upside down!!! quilt blocks are a tad easier to do over! tiling not so! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt would drive me crazy!
ReplyDeleteI noticed it the minute I opened the post! No way to even fix it with a magic marker!
ReplyDeleteI hear you Bonnie, it would drive me nuts too!! I have a stained glass window hanging and one day I noticed the border squares around it were different on the bottom than they were on the top and I wondered how they could not notice that when they were making it, it drives me nuts. Glad there are a few others who notice those little things.. guess I'm not totally nuts... lol
ReplyDeleteI never saw it -- doesn't bother me a bit.
ReplyDeleteI had to really look hard to find it! I don't think I would have ever noticed it. Besides aren't you the Queen of WONKY this week???
ReplyDeleteIn a hotel room bathroom, I wouldn't care. But in my own home- it would have to be re-done, or covered with a mat. And in a quilt, it would definitely come out and be fixed... Just sayin'...
ReplyDeleteIt would drive me crazy! I always look at tile jobs, because I have done a bit of tiling in my own home. It is just one row off... Towel would be on the floor for me...
ReplyDeleteWhile I didn't see it immediately, it wouldn't bother me either. Oh, I knew I could live with imperfection! I'm a survivor.
ReplyDeleteDone is GOOD.
ReplyDeleteThat? Was installed by a man.
ReplyDeleteNo, wait. Not a man. A guy. There's a difference.
It would drive me insaaaaaane.
exactly what I was thinking......
DeleteThat would drive me nuts! That mistake was the first thing I saw. I guess that is why I was only asked to judge a quilt show only once.....ha! Ha!
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice it at first. If you had taken the photo from the other end, I would have. (I tend to 'skim' things). All and all, the more I looked at it, the more it bothered me, but not enough to do anything about it.
ReplyDeleteLOL...I noticed it right away!
ReplyDeleteYou think you have problems; my husband says he is CDO - it's like OCD, but the letters are in alphabetical order, THE WAY THEY SHOULD BE! Only joking of course. Sam

ReplyDeleteLooks like some of my Easy Street blocks.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah, that would bug me, too. After I quit laughing. It's hard to believe that a professional would leave the tiles looking like that!
ReplyDeleteI ran into that exact problem in a checkerboard border last week! At least mine wasn't permanently set in grout. Just a quick pick and a resew and I was on my way and nobody will ever know but me...and now you. Lane
ReplyDeletecurious if the bathrooms in the other rooms are similar :)
ReplyDeleteI would have noticed. Well maybe not. Too funny.
ReplyDeleteCover it and move on Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteLilac Joan - my mom always used to say "oh Joan (my name too) a man on a galloping horse would never notice the difference!"
Sometimes I think, "God love those who would never notice this", yet I also think, "Those poor souls - look at all they're missing!" I'll just be glad that I notice all of these things around me and appreciate all that others miss!!!
ReplyDeleteYup. White out and a black Sharpie would take care of that!!
ReplyDeleteCamera hidden in the bathroom...no no Bonnie! LOL. Turn the top row to the right. And yes now I want to check the other bathrooms. I SO tried not to participate in your obsession but alas, here I am "fixing" the problem and wondering over the other bathrooms... At least it isn't an ear worm....shimmy jimmy!!! ROFL!
ReplyDeleteNoticed it right off, scrolled down to see if it was a "design choice"...a towel would be on it all the time! Would drive me NUTSO!!!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. It would bug me but my dear departed hubby wouldn't have noticed. He installed a railing on our front porch. Never noticed that the spindles had a right side up. About 1/3 are randomly upside down. Makes me smile fondly ... now! Lol.
ReplyDeleteI love it!
Deletecompletely bugs me. I like Farm Quilter's idea of covering it with a towel. *shudder!*
ReplyDeleteWe are female we would notice. Quilter or not
