iPhone-o-Gram! Clean That Purse!

This is insane.

When was the last time I cleaned out my purse? Why did I wait so long?

Because I couldn't find what I KNEW was in there and I got tired of digging so I dumped it out--

Of course, you have to add this phone I am typing on to the mess because it was in there too!

Ready? Now go clean out YOUR purse because I know I am not alone in this----and yes, it's things like this that sidetrack my packing for Virginia Beach in the morning---- :c/

Bonnie

PS -- Yes, there are random pieces of scrap fabrics AND a whole cone of black thread in there. Don't you have this kind of stuff in YOUR purse too? :c)

  1. I absolutely have that going on. I keep a box in my trunk to empty out the heavy stuff when getting ready to shop, museum walk, etc. I'm thrilled to see I'm not the only one.

  2. I'm going to join you in the cleaning, but it will be my sewing room, not my purse! I clean that out pretty regularly, but my sewing room is a mess! I can't sew in this junk pile, so I better clean it out! It's gonna take me longer to clean this than you to clean out your purse, though :-)

    Get packing, woman!

  3. Bonnie, this isn't a comment about this post. Sorry about that. But I have a question. I discovered your blog and your .com site a year or so ago and I discovered pinterest a few weeks ago. They came together in my mind and this afternoon I added some images of your quilts to my pinterest board and included the link to get back to the actual blog post where I found the images I posted. How do you feel about that? Are you okay with that or should I remove those quilts from my board? If you respond you can email me directly or you can leave a comment here because I'll subscribe to comments to this post. Thanks!

  4. I dump my purse weekly because I can never find what I want. LOL I was also wondering about the answer to Nancy's question?

  5. Get ready to hate me but my purse is cleaned out daily after I run errands. Can't stand it messy. If only that transferred into the clutter in my house, lol!

  6. I don't have that problem. I carry either a Lazy Girls Designs Runaround Bag or an LGD Sassy Bag where there is only room for my two LGD Wonder Wallets and my keys and cell phone. If I need to take more I use a tote bag (but I usually leave that in the car). Debbie in WV

My purse used to look like that until a friend of mine told that she uses those clear plastic zipper bags, the smaller ones to put like things in. I have four of them in my purse and boy, what a difference it has made when I need to find something or changes purses, which is about every year or two if that :)

From what I have read in blogs lately, if I/you/anyone puts a picture on Pinterest it then becomes the property of Pinterest to do with what they wish, including upload and sell the images. Something to do with the fine print in the agreement/conditions for use.
I am with you Bonnie, on the cleaning out the purse, always full but never of what you want or need.

  9. I don't have a problem with anyone posting anything on Pinterest as long as it links back to me. I haven't had ANY luck with pinterest, evidently I was able to sign up, but only upload ONE photo -- and now it won't work for me..I can't log in, I can't upload. And I keep getting these messages that all these people are following me...only...there is nothing to follow because it's broken for me! :((

    1. There has been some concerns expressed by the media here in Australia about copyright issues relating to pininterest - I don't use it but I know some professional textile artists in oz are considering leaving pininterest because of the copyright concerns raised

  10. You would never know by looking at my house but my purse is 'uber' organized. I hate not being to find things and I always snag a nail or stab myself when I dig. I clean my purse out at least once a week.

  12. Bonnie, MY pin links back to you but if others repin from my pin, I don't know what happens. I think they would eventually get back to your blog/site.

Since I get easily bored with purses, and am constantly making new ones, I don't really have the problem of what is in there, since the junk gets cleaned out regularly! But it is possible to find fabric, thread, even pins and needles in there!! What is a purse for if not to carry your stitching stuff??

  14. I DO have scraps of fabric and a spool of thread in mine too! LOL

  15. I went to pull out a charge card today and pulled out an extra scrap that I need to find something to match/coordinate with. ( Excuse the awful grammar because my mind won't rearrange that sentence so there is no dangling participle.) I also have random thread, a needle book and some pins in a pill bottle.

  16. I am feeling rather challenged today as I tried to follow these instructions, but can't seem to find the recent posts by others: "In the right hand column click SEE ALL on the "recent posts by others" box to expand it and treat yourself to some quilted eye candy!" Any suggestions as to why I can't see this? I am sure it is clear to everyone but me~

    1. Dear Marcia --- the post on the facebook newsfeed was referring to the pictures on the facebook wall for Quiltville, not the blog. Go here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Quiltville/381510001640 And THEN the above information will make sense. The blog is not facebook and facebook is not the blog -- two separate venues :c)

    2. I understand now......didn't know about Quiltville on Facebook until now! Thank you!

  17. I've got a spool of grey thread -- does that count? :-)

  18. I just discovered a spool of dark green thread in my purse. I have no clue how this color happened to be in there (actually, I have no clue why I happen to have a spool of this color at all...) I might have just grabbed any spool to have some thread with me to baste my hexagons...
I didn't have any fabric scraps in my purse this time - which is kinda strange since I usually have at least a handfull of scraps in there to be able to buy matching fabrics (good excuse to be able to buy new fabric all the time...)

I have an office at home where I have had my own business full-time for 20 years until my recent retirement. My purse is really tidy, not much in it, but you should see my office!! Stephani in TX (Tomazec@aol.com)

  22. I'm a man, so I don't carry a purse - you'd be AMAZED how much MORE junk you can carry around in a rucksack!
