I'm posting from the top of the first lighthouse built in America commissioned by George Washington himself.
I'm alone with this incredible view of the "newer" lighthouse from the top of the "old" one--the new one being built in the 1800s ;-)
I could sit up here and watch the ships in the Chesapeake Bay for hours.
PS--the old one is the brick one. I'm at the very top--the newer one is the black and white one--

ReplyDeleteLighhouses are our family 'thing'! To me, they have a enduring peaceful quality --- serene even in a storm. Want an idea ...lolol ... I have ALWAYS wanted to ride out a hurricane in top of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse!! OK, not tooo good an idea... but WOWOWOW.....

ReplyDeleteI always wondered why "this comment has been removed" shows up in the comments. Why would someone remove a comment? Was it bad? Offensive? In case YOU are wondering, I removed my comment because I meant to post it after Bonnie's blog post dated Thurs March 8 regarding her latest Nearly Insane block, not after her post about the lighthouses. :)
DeleteOh my gosh...that is awesome!
