iPhone-o-Gram! Lunch with my Boy!

I've made it to South Carolina and have had a great BBQ dinner with the guild girls and those who have traveled in from out of state for tomorrow's workshop!

One of the benefits of driving this way is that I get to stop and love on my eldest son. Jason will be 29 in November. How did that happen??

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Pawleys Front Porch in the Five Points area of Columbia.

I'm not sure what was on his burger but I think it had burger, egg, ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce and onion. But look at this thing!!

As for me, I had good ole SC style fish tacos. You see, I was trying to save room for tonight's BBQ. Lol.

I failed. Miserably!

But I did get a drive by pic ((sort of)) of the state Capitol!

We are headed back to Sally's house to go feed the horses. Horses! Someone pinch me. I think i've died and gone to Tara from Gone With The Wind!

Tomorrow? Smith Mountain Morning class!

Night, Everyone!

  1. It sounds like your having a blast! Food looks good and who could possibly resist having a chance to spend time with one of their children? Hope your entire trip is as fun as this one day looks :)

  2. I think that burger comes with age restrictions. Over 40 and they ask for your medical insurance ID, ha, ha.

Isn't it great to spend time with your adult kids!

    Have a wonderful trip.

  3. I second Gail's sentiment about spending time with our adult kids.

I still have three at home, only one of mine has flown the coupe, but I already enjoy spending time with him when I can.

    ENJOY your weekend.

AH Life is good! Doesn't it just warm your heart when you spend time with your grown kids? Life's continuing circle ;)

South Carolina is a treasure! Love the Low Couontry cooking, and slower pace and the gentle drawls. Have fun - thoughts and prayers go with you.

It has been about 4 years since I visited the US and I had forgoten how big the servings are over there. I have no idea how anyone can get there mouth around that burger but I have 2 son inlaws that I am sure would love to try. Great you had time with your son I have 4 daughters and 8 grandchildren all living near me which I love.

  12. We went to Pawley's Front Porch a few years ago (after seeing it on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives)on a trip from Ohio to Charleston. My husband and son had a big ol' hamburger and I had the fish tacos! I showed my husband your post and he said "You quilters are all alike!" (And in many ways, he's right!)
