I didn’t forget what today is – but this morning’s mystery intro post made no mention of it because I have had a one track mind with getting the info out to you!
I have to share what came in the mail yesterday from Di in TN --- Isn’t this cute cute cute!? I opened the box to find two beady little eyes staring up at me.
I quickly unwrapped it to find this little guy!
ADORABLE!!!
I shot Di off a quick email thank you, and she replied saying that the leg part was actually a cupcake holder sold in sets of 4 at Joann’s. Be watching for these to go on sale after Halloween is over – you are going to want to run out and snatch these up! Or if you have a coupon already, go get them. TOO TOO TOO CUTE! Thanks, again Di!
I got a phone call this morning about the retreat in West Virginia that starts on Friday --- we’ve had to move locations because Hawks Nest is still without power and is shut down. That’s the bad thing. The good part is, they’ve moved us to another state park in West Virginia that is closer to me – so my drive won’t be as long.
Quilters are a tough lot! Go ahead and change our location! As long as we can plug in and still sew, we are good to go – so those coming, I look forward to seeing you there! My project tomorrow is to kit up more blocks so I have projects to sew on while there. Class will go from 9 to 4—but after that – it’s free time for me to sew too, and we are going to have a ball!
I don’t know if there will be wifi at this new park, or what the cell reception will be like ---but we’ll make do whatever happens.
More stash folding but the end is in sight --- it feels SO GOOD!
The Green Yellow Orange Rust cupboard!
I’ve started on browns/blacks/greys!
Who remembers this?!?
I bought a flat fold bundle in about 1984 or 1985 Still love this print –good old VIPs!
Anyone up for QuiltCam tonight? I’ll be turning it on around 9pm Eastern. Catch me then!
Who remembers that old VIP print? Me! Me!! Me!!! I still have some too. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been to Lowe's and have the paint chip cards. Yay!
ReplyDeleteSee you tonight.
Thanks for all you do!
I have quit a few old VIP prints. I have been collection material for years, but didn't start quilting until just a few months ago.
ReplyDeleteI still have some oldie but goodie VIP's as well. Some of them I STILL really love!! I can't wait to see what you come up with quilt-wise in the next year or so, now that you've reconnected with old friends in the stash :)
ReplyDeleteLori in VA
Got to get to Lowes and grab my paint chips.
ReplyDeleteI too have that print and used it a lot as well as other VIP's. Your stash is wonderfully amazing! Hope to do quiltcam tonight.
ReplyDeleteKaren in Va.
Be careful in West Va. They got dumped with snow. Will need quilt cam tonight! Need to have some encouragement to keep working on projects.
ReplyDeleteJust put the Corn Chowder soup in the Crock Pot, after Knitting Group meets the fabric sorting for "Easy Street". As for fabric I have some that are from when miniatures were the craft of the moment, the one you showed looked very familiar. Happy Halloween, Lynda from Chicago
ReplyDeleteDrooling over those neat and tidy OCD stash cupboards. Someday....
ReplyDeleteSo cute!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay, I figured out that fat quarters aren't folded and put on the shelves. Just too small. But what is the LARGEST yardage you will fold and put on a shelf? I have done up to four yards, but bigger than that is too much? Gone through two tubs of batiks, and it looks like I have barely scratched the surface of my stash! Looking for something to go with my blues and reds for the mystery.
Except for scraps, I put everything on shelves, some in clear baskets, some folded on the shelf. I want to be able to see things at a glance and have shelving or cubbies floor to ceiling on every wall of my small room, except my design wall.
DeleteI have lots of VIP's in my stash too, but they are slowly coming to be extinct I have been using lots of them up.
ReplyDeletesee you tonight. Got my books today. Hope email came through. I agree with Karen, you stash is wonderfully amazing. Pin cush. is so cute. We have no Joann's here any more. boo hoo. but who knows Hobby Lobby might have some. Need to get to Lowe's and get chips too.
ReplyDeleteKohls had a dip bowl on a stand the looks much the same-probably costs more and is a bit larger! Love the spider!
DeleteI was at Target Saturday and found them for less than half price! I left smiling with 3 packages of them.
DeleteI think I had that VIP print in every color....might still have some blue. Have fun at the retreat and if someone tries to hand you a snow shovel, just back away!!! :)
ReplyDeleteBonnie, I now have my Easy Street fabrics chosen. While doing that, I also started redoing my huge stash, by doing your folding style. As I was looking at my shelves, am beginning to think I can get lots more on the them, because the folds are narrower than what I was doing. Will let you know how it goes, as I will be doing more tomorrow night, while hubby does band practice in our living room!! Folding fabric is not overly disturbing or noisy.
ReplyDeleteRe-fold and have room for more???? LOVE the idea! Let me at my cupboards!
DeleteYour progress is amazing. As for Quilt Cam...I think I'd be interrupted too much by the T & T-ers tonight. Computer Downstairs- front door Upstairs, could be problematic. I'm loving the purple and gray combo for the Mystery. Fabrics stash shopping going on. Thanks for going easy on us this year.
ReplyDeleteHalloween with Bonnie. Best trick or treat in years! See you then. P.S. Your stash looks SO FRIGHTFULLY GOOD!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I had some of that fabric, too. Maybe there is some of it still lurking in the stash somewhere. (I thought "lurking" sounded scarier for a Halloween comment.)
ReplyDeleteI love that pincushion. So cute!
Adorable pin cushion and so nice of her to send to you. Creative! Happy you will be on tonight, as I NEED some quiltcam time to get back to finishing my top I'm working on. Just setting on point, so I"m SOOOO close! It will get done tonight! yay! Thank you in advance, as you motivate me and I get so much accomplished just listening to you while I sew. I talk to myself like you do. lol Now I can say that I"m talking to Bonnie. lol
ReplyDeleteHAPPY HALLOWEEN!
I always forget to add something! I am scatterbrained!~
DeleteI wanted to say that SO MANY do not have gray in their stash. Well, I did not either, until recently. It seems that is the new neutral and is everywhere these days. So, I started buying some. Should be easy for folks to find now.
Oh you'll be in my state and I can't go! Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteI remember that fabric, in fact I probably have a little of it in a dark brown color way if I recall!
ReplyDeletePlease tell me how Di attached the body of the spider to the cupcake holder? Just too cute!
Happy Halloween to you, and have fun at the retreat! I hope you have wifi, because I love all your posts keeping us updated when we can't be there in person.
Darn, going to have to miss quilt cam-have to go occupy a pharmacy while a make-over crew is at work. Am taking my hexies to play with if I don't have to move stock.
ReplyDeleteYou got me started on going through old magazines (some from 2002!). Did several years worth of several subscriptions. Pulled out a 2-3 inch pile of patterns I wanted and the rest will go to the "free" table next week at guild. Found Bonnie's original scrap storage system article and some of the early patterns! Now, have more (MORE) projects in the bucket! Oh, have enough fabric to do all of them and then some!
Did get "Easy Street" fabric pulled and then went back to magazines. Only had to go through about a quarter of the stash-may be cutting large pieces to make more scraps for this project. But, still did not have to buy anything!
Do you run across "what was I thinking" fabric? I know cut it smaller but I mean even in spite of that.
ReplyDeleteI love that pincushion! I just checked Joann's website and the stands are on sale for $4.50 per set! I think I will be running out there tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI so wish I had a stash like you ladies do. Wow, Bonnie, 5 cabinets full plus all the scrap bins. So envious here.... Do ya'll buy half yards more than fat quarters? As I've said before I'm just getting started. I have been working from scrub tops my sister gave me. Hey not mens plaids, but still good cottons to use. She bought granddaughters a new doll that is like a real baby for Christmas. I am making them all doll quilts to go with them made from their Anna's shirts. I still plan on collecting some men's shirts. Nancy
ReplyDeleteThat's NANA'S shirts

ReplyDeleteBlue -yellow-grn-red
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm astonished that you don't have two whole shelves of yellow/cheddar fabrics. I see it so often in your quilts! Got to be one of your favorite colors!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness Bonnie, you have a mighty stash! I'm always so impressed. Just love it!
ReplyDelete*hugs*

:-)
Dang....hit our Joannes first thing this morning but not a spider cupcake holder to be found...said they'd sold out - I didn't ask if they had a run on them this morning....LOL
ReplyDeleteI found them at Target, less than $2.00.
DeleteI found the spider legs today at Hobby Lobby for 66% off! WOoo WOO!
