Standing in a line at Sam's.
6 boxes of mailers, one new chair mat to replace the cracked one under the sewing machine chair---
And a treat for me: JK Rowling's new book, The Casual Vacancy---
Because SOME things are just best devoured one page at a time in hard back!!
Mmmmm! Love that new book smell!!

I am reading Casual Vacancy now! JK Rowling is amazing. I can't believe the descriptions of scenes and the depth of the characters. I am really enjoying it. I borrowed it from the Library, but may have to buy it....just like the Harry Porter series. I think I will want to read this again.....definitely will want to share with others.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait till you give us your opinion of the book.... I just love
ReplyDeletetraveling along with you for your day....most of the time I have to
shake my head at all you do.
Let us know how the book is!
ReplyDeleteI have to get that book. Let us know what you think.
ReplyDeleteI'll be interested to see what you think...I stopped after about 50 pages....
ReplyDeleteI almost bought it at SAMs, but couldn't get into the HP series..let me know if it's worth reading please.
ReplyDeleteFor those that can't get into "reading' the HP books, try the CD versions. The reader, Jim Dale, really brings the stories alive. I liked them so much I saved up and bought the whole set on CD. Your local library probably has the whole series. I have actually sought out books where he is the reader.
ReplyDeleteDitto!
DeleteI'm hoping to get my hands on that book too. As much as I love my Kindle and audio books, a good old fashioned book book :) can not be beat!
ReplyDeleteI want your opinion on the Rowlings book too. I loved HP, had to read the series over each time a new book came out though. It is a classic!
ReplyDeleteI saw it at the grocery story, but currently am 1 1/2 books behind. I also buy books occasionally (cheap on Amazon) even though I use the Kindle. Can't wait to hear more feedback! This may be next on my list!!
ReplyDeleteI'm about halfway through it too. I agree- fascinating descriptions. The story is odd....can't really figure out where it's going, but I'm hooked.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Joan. I can't figure where this is going either; I am hooked, though.
DeleteHey, everyone, if you're in doubt about whether a book is worth buying, borrow it from the library! You can log on right now and put it on hold. You can download ebooks and audiobooks to a variety of devices.....and if you're on the road a lot, like Bonnie, you can easily log in to renew what you've got checked out.
ReplyDeleteGreat quilting minds think alike..I just ordered that book on audio so I can "read" it while sewing!
