It’s a Studio Day!

I just looked up at the clock and woweeee –where is this day going?!

I am so excited to be home….I set in right away to adding borders to my Sister’s Choice top.

Just seeing it sitting there on top of the table with the border strips right there waiting for me made me smile ---

The narrow purple inner border was a fabric I had brought home from Bali!  So fun to see it in this quilt.

It also is playing double duty --- this is what I bound my Easy Street in as well!

The OUTER border – well, that was the INNER border on Easy Street.  What can I say --- that was also right next to the binding fabric in my purple stash.  I like these together.  They get the job done.

It was raining this morning, so a back deck photo op was not going to happen, but that didn’t stop me from throwing the quilt top over the front porch rail…and backing up into the doorway to get a photo!

Pink Love!

I’m now in the process of getting a backing pieced, and getting it loaded into the machine – that is AFTER book orders go to the Post Office!  I’ve been gone a week, so I’m trying to get these out as soon as I can…and THEN I can play!

Enjoy your afternoon!

PS ---Questions on the next Quilt Cam are coming in.  I need a couple of days.  I leave Thursday for New Hampshire, so I'm thinking Wednesday Night at 9pm Eastern will be the best time for me to do it, so I hope you'll catch me then!

  10. The new Sister's Choice is beautiful! I want to make that one too. I wanted to tell you that I found a pink Atlas just like Dagney in Mobile,Alabama a couple of weeks ago for $25.00 BUT it was 40% off! So I ended up paying $16.50 for it! I felt like I had hit the jackpot! It runs like a dream! I can't wait to get her all cleaned up and ready for piecing. Thanks for sharing your machines with us and encouraging me to enjoy own machine collection.

  11. When I saw you were piecing another Sister's Choice that swung my decision of what to do with the 9 patch exchange blocks my "sisters" at church in the "Sew Blessed" group are exchanging. We are a loosely organized group of quilters - mostly beginners with me as their coach and cheerleader. I love to do shirt quilts as well, so I am taking shirt pieces to do the outsides. Since I got my pieces from the sleeve sections that I had bagged up to potentially exchange with other shirt savers, I am calling my quilt "Roll up your sleeves, Sisters" The exchange process will not be completed until August, so that gives me plenty of time to work up the outside parts as leaders/enders. Thank you for so many levels of inspiration!
