Some Poway Showing & Sharing!

20141010_130854
We had some great lunch time and guild time Show & Share while I was in California!

The word is out – bring your quilts and we’ll do an impromptu reveal at the end of our lunch break.  It helps everyone get to know everyone else, especially with visitors from other areas and gets us back excited to be stitching again after filling our bellies!  If I am coming to your area, bring your show & share!

This is Karen’s Hidden Spools!  All from her 2.5” pre-cut strips!  Hidden Spools is a pattern from the Free Patterns tab at the top of the blog, and is great for beginners, just separating strips into two camps – neutrals and colors!

I love the bright scraps and the use of solid blue for the cornerstones on this one.  I think this one belongs to Kathy, but all I can see in the photo is one foot…hahaha!

Kathy’s Easy Street from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders, all ready for quilting!

And Carolina Crossroads in brights from Scraps & Shirttails!

Blue Ridge Beauty from Adventures with Leaders & Enders!

This one was started when I was teaching at Road to California and we were playing with different layouts.  I said “Wouldn’t it be fun if…” and we laid student blocks out into a radiating heart, and she took the design and ran with it! I’m so happy to see it finished!

Easy Street  from More Adventures with Leaders & Enders in lime green and pink!  WOW!

20141012_141832

Another Easy Street, believe it or not!

This one is set straight instead of on point!  Love how this changes the look completely!

Orca Bay from String Fling in pink, blue and brown!

SUCH a great job ladies!  And this isn’t all..this is just the show and share from two workshops, and there is more to come, but I don’t want to overload this post, and Sadie needs a walk!

Oh one more thing…an idea for you:

snowskirack1

Wooden Ski Quilt Rack!

Unice sent in this photo of a quilt rack her hubby had made from a pair of old wood skis.  GREAT idea if you have a cabin or home in a ski zone!  Doesn’t it look cozy with the fire going in her stove?

I also love the autumn quilt she has out.  Great idea, and thanks for sharing!

Up on the mountain today –the guys are going 4 wheel riding, I’m staying here to sew, do laundry, and clean up a bit so things are ready to leave this evening.  We’ll have an early dinner and then down the mountain we’ll go.

In between everything, I’m going to try to get some stitches in.

Have a great Sunday, everyone!

The Easy Street set on point has changed my mind totally - guess I'll have to add it to my list! Like I need one more List well beyond life expectancy already.
