And the scrap quilts go on and on and on!
But I just wanted to look at these ocean photos one more time.
See that wave just crashing? Can you hear the roar?
And that sun as it sinks lower and lower until it is beyond the horizon.
They say there is supposed to be a green flash – I thought it was just my eyes playing tricks on me after staring at the thing for so long….what an awesome evening!
This was on the beach at Del Mar, and if you have a chance to go eat at Poseidon, you won’t be disappointed.
I had pistachio encrusted salmon over garlic mashed potatoes with seared spinach or something….oh my word. It was so good!
The following photos were shown at show and share during our Virginia Bound workshop day!
Sister’s Choice in Greens from the Free Patterns tab!
Made as Leaders & Enders from Easy Street leftovers!
The Huntington Beach girls brought their spooky houses!
3 extras for a table runner!
So much spooky fun!
The pattern is Happy Scrappy Houses from the Free Patterns tab – and these gals came to my workshops in La Habra last spring! It may feel weird to sew Halloween houses in May, but by October, it’s all good and we are glad we did the sewing off season! CUTE!
Check out Lazy Sunday from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
I love seeing things in a different color plan than mine!
Here’s another in different fabrics! So pretty!
Easy Street with an additional piano Key Border
Also from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
Old Tobacco Road!
Old Tobacco Road was an earlier mystery, and the pattern is still available in the old mysteries section at the bottom of the Free Patterns tab! I love this quilt! She did a great job on it…just needs binding!
Zuckerwatte from String Fling!
She will scallop the border when the binding is added…such a pretty pink quilt!
Pineapple Blossom is always a favorite!
And a lap sized version with triangle borders!
You’ll find this one under the Free Patterns tab at the top of the blog as well.
Everyone needs to do at least ONE Scrappy Trips quilt!
From the Free patterns tab.
Chunky Churndash is also a great one for using up the strips and scraps.
Free patterns tab!
Spoolin Around from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
I love the yellow that Jill used to set this with….such a sunny California quilt!
Jill’s Perkiomen Daydreams from Scraps & Shirttails!
All 10,000 pieces in all of their glory! She chose a simple barn raising layout for her quilt, but the blocks are shaded much like log cabin blocks and can be twisted and turned into any number of layouts. All those squares are mesmerizing to look at!
Easy Street from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders
Orange and green and purple…WOW!
This Easy Street has more BLUE!
Another closer to the original with additonal piano key border!
Double Delight is also found in the mystery section of the Free Patterns tab!
Another Double Delight!
Celtic Solstice, Last Year’s mystery!
And another, more in the original color way!
And one more! Notice the border corners!
Check out THESE additional borders!
According to the maker, the additional border that is so WOW on the quilt was actually a WOOPS when she mis-cut her pieces for the chevrons for the alternate block. She put them to good use, and I love the skinny green zig zag. WELL DONE!
Tumelo Trail from Scraps & Shirttails II!
((See!!! This is the lunch time Show & Share that went on and on!! Awesome!))
Lap sized version of Blue Ridge Beauty from Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
A beautiful version of Orca Bay from String Fling in Turquoise and Orange!
Talkin Turkey from String Fling in Progress!
We had so much show and share that I have several days left to show you! But I’m trying to break them down and spread them out – each deserves a full showing, I didn’t want to just shove them all into a long slide show and have them be glossed over. These are amazing quilts, a whole lot of piecing and effort and scrap using went into the making of these beauties and I want to share them all!
On the home front – I’ve already dropped The Hubster off at the airport…He’s headed to Corning, NY for the week. I’ll be flying to Texas on Thursday, park the car in the long term parking at the airport and when he comes home Friday he’ll have the car waiting for him. How is that for convenient?
I hear the shower running upstairs – Jeff is working today, so in about **counting down** an hour I’ll be HOME ALONE. For the first time in……oh goodness, WEEKS!
Whatever will I do with myself?
I’m sure I’ll think of something!
For one thing..there is Quilt-Cam tonight to plan on. 9pm EST. Bring that project, let’s sew together!
I have seen the green flash in San Diego many times. So amazing and you don't see it each time the sun sets.
ReplyDeleteThe quilts are amazing. I love scrappy so these are right up my alley. Can't wait to see the rest. These women do beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteOh home alone...whatever trouble will you get into. I am headed to guild today and am looking forward to Quiltcam tonight. DH is off hunting and I am alone too...well with two dogs!!!

ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the show and share. What a thrill for you and how proud you must be to see all those versions of your quilt designs. Awesome! Thank you for all you do and share with us!
ReplyDeleteWhat fabulous quilts!! I loved them all. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful quilts. So much time and effort went into all of them. Love the colour combinations on all of them, some of them quite different. Loved the orange, purple and green one. Bold but so effective! Looking forward to catching up on Quilt Cam tomorrow as I live on the UK and your timings aren't conducive to my bedtime, more's the pity.
ReplyDeleteYou have given us so many beautiful patterns and these women have translated them into some gorgeous quilts with great variety. Ever appreciative of what you have given to the quilting community!
ReplyDeleteGreat show and tell. Love them all.
ReplyDeleteDoes the quilt cam show up on this site?
ReplyDeleteThose houses look like a California earthquake to me! Been looking and looking for old friends from Poway and Friendship Quilters. Haven't spotted any yet.
ReplyDeleteClaudia
I loved seeing my friends show their quilts. Linda (red hair in yellow) and Wendy in browns and Collette in salt and pepper short very tight curls. Maybe I'll get to see you next year.
