They dive right in and go at it with gusto ----the blocks were flying and they got so much done within a short 3 hour class period. I don’t often teach half-day classes, but I must say this is the PERFECT choice for one!
And you should see the scraps that everyone was pulling out of boxes, bins, buckets, totes and zip lock bags –What a variety!
The earliest piece of fabric amongst this group seems to be a small print from 1973 that our quilter remembers making a maxi dress for a friend from. Its colors? Turquoise, Orange, Gold on brown. What colors are popular right now? Turquoise, Orange, Gold – Brown! There IS nothing new under the sun.
I do love this quilt for the motion and movement in it……and it is SO SIMPLE! You will find Basket Weave Strings under the free patterns tab at the top of the blog.
If you can’t view the slide show on your mobile device, click the image below to go directly to the photo album. I think you will get a real feel for what a great time we had…let those strips and strings find their way in to some great blocks and in to a very fun quilt!

Today is Jamestown Landing Day! More stringy goodness happening with mmy students today ---and I'm looking forward to seeing their color choices and fabrics. Their enthusiasm for quilting is infectious and I love being surrounded by it. Have a great Saturday, everyone!
Awesome! Wish I was there!
