I finally won the binding battle against the interminable Wonky Wishes Quilt! Another Binding DONE!
Gosh, I really love this quilt in all its…..ultimate wonkiness, of course!
I’ll definitely be adding more string sashings to future quilts, it was a great way to use up stuff and really stopped the quilt from being ho-hum and boring-snoring.
I took it outside for a photo shoot this afternoon once the sunshine had left the deck --- oh our trees are so nice and shady now!
Okay, it still managed to shine through in that ONE BRIGHT SPOT!
The back doesn’t look half bad either, in fact, I rather LIKE this side ---
It just may reside on my stack – wrong side out for now just so I can look at it!
You will find the free BLOCK pattern for Wonky Wishes under the free patterns tab. I have not written full quilt directions yet. No time, and other deadlines in the fire.
Oh, and while we were photographing a quilt – it was suggested that we photograph me too – time for that new profile photo since the hair is now gone:
Now I could only do something with those crows feet and laugh lines – but then I guess I’ve earned each and every one of those!
We are headed up to Quilt Villa in just a little bit. The pink and purple baby quilt for my sister is in the van, I’ll be working on THAT binding on the drive up. It needs to be finished this weekend so we can mail it off on Monday. This is a deadline not to be missed, that girl is due with my niece sometime within the next 3 weeks ---Ooooh, can’t wait!
Have a great weekend everyone ---off to finish packing!

ReplyDeleteYEA fro a binding finish. I have a few to get DONE. ie: my Celtic Christmas Solstice...Love the new Pic! I thought for a bit it was the Nieces quilt you were wrapped in when I saw it on FB. Have a quiet week-end at the Cabin- only the sounds of the Treadle or hummm of a Vintage machine to be heard.

Great finish!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the new do!
I'm still working on dancing 9s for my grandniece born in february... I guess I'm the auntie slacker! I did get a bunch more strips sewn together during quiltcam last night and hope to sneak in some more sewing time on Sunday to get the 9patchs made. I think I've enough for 3 of 4 rows.... I'm getting there!
hm
I love the back. I am working on a baby quilt and I think I will do something like that on the back. That way if one side gets a little dirty it can be reversed saving mommy some wash time. Lol

ReplyDeleteAnd just yesterday I did a similar thing with my hair...trying to take advantage of my natural curl. Lookin' good.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish on the Wonky Wishes! Mine is just a top, finished it this week and have loved every minute of working on it - think I'll be making some more of the wonky stars for another one of some kind. You haven't had time to write up the pattern? Too bad, I did it anyway! So loved the idea of the scrappy sashes I couldn't wait to do them, and they were pieced before I even got the blocks together. The FW did the wonky stars, the original 830 Bernina put the blocks together, and the original 15- did the paper piecing on the sashings. Now this happy piecer is working on some small crumb and paper pieced blocks on the FW - more fun--hope you have a wonderful weekend at the cabin before your busy week starts. Carol in Arkansas
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and the new hair-do!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and the hair!!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to your glasses? I think the new do looks fabulous, makes you look younger :0).

I really love your haircut, it's a terrific look for you. The quilt is a winner.
ReplyDeleteI love the hair cut and is that eye make-up? Dishey!
ReplyDeleteIf you are serious about the crows feet and laugh lines, BING Racheal Ray .com from today. She had a guest who taught a 50 second face lift. I'm trying it. Simple and quick. Frankly I didn't see any lines on your face. Good luck finishing the quilt.
Love your quilt! The back is stunning. Love, love love the hair!
ReplyDeleteThe finished quilt really sparkles with the string sashing, great idea. You sparkle too, with your new hair cut.

The quilt turned out beautifully. --I'm not done with mine yet.
ReplyDeleteLove your new 'do.' As for the barely noticeable crows feet and laugh lines --they make you more interesting!
What crows feet! The new haircut looks great and you look youthful.
ReplyDeleteSaying YES to the hair !
ReplyDeleteOh I love Wonky Wishes Quilt. Front and the back. And your new profile picture is superb!!!
ReplyDeleteI love Wonky Wishes. I adore the back, too. Two quilts in one. See the wavy, curly look with the shorter haircut. Like you I resisted for years and kept my hair about shoulder length. When it was bugging me, I would just pull it back into a ponytail. A year or so ago, I cut my hair in a bob like yours, then I went farther. I'd say mine is more like a "pixie cut" from when I was a kid. All of these little waves and curls appeared from my bone straight hair. You are looking great. Love the new sig pic.
ReplyDeleteLove the new hair style and both sides of the quilt. Beutiful quilts bt a beautiful quilter!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt and the new hair cut. Looks so cute and young!

ReplyDeleteWell Bonnie, what more can I say that hasn't been said already - nothing! Both you and the quilt look fabulous. I wasn't convinced on quilt cam because my picture was a little fuzzy but boy, it really suits you and yes, you do look younger. Enjoy the cabin.
ReplyDeleteLinda

ReplyDeleteWow... for this quilt but really for your haircut too. You look much younger and energized. Guess that is what a good haircut does, right?
ReplyDeleteThis length hair, a little curled and a little fluffed up, is just perfect for you.
