Or Turkey Running!
Or Turkey Marathon!
This complicated looking quilt is really only 3 units:
A center 9 patch placed on point with string triangles and framed by a border of flying geese, bricks and squares.
We used the Easy Angle Ruler and Companion Angle Ruler for the flying geese units, and I loved the squeals of delight and whoops of excitement when things came out the right size so easily!
String blocks were pieced, trimmed, sliced, de-papered and used to frame that center nine patch.
By the end of the day we had whole flocks of blocks to show for our efforts!
You can find the pattern for Talkin' Turkey in my book String Fling!

ReplyDeleteI tested this BLock for QM's 100 Blocks Volume 5. It was the one time I did String blocks.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that every time you post pictures from a class, my list of to do quilts changes order?
ReplyDeleteI love to hear about your trips. Hope you are enjoying the weather since we are being threatened with yet another snowstorm in Ky. We should be seeing spring. Please God, we have had enough.
We have a blizzard warning in South Dakota for tomorrow. I am hoping for a snow day from work. Currently have two Bonnie scrap quilts in the making. It would be fun to have a whole day to sew!
