And this afternoon that string began!
It started out with Holiday Inn--how many of you stop a video to capture a better view of a quilt?
It's black and white, but I can tell its a tied one--goose & goslings, maybe??
It's after dinner time now and we are just settling in to White Christmas!
Feet up in the recliner---binding in progress while we sing along and recite the lines we've memorized over the years.
This is Christmas tradition at its best!

ReplyDeleteToo funny! *I* have a pause button and watched it last week (and played it back about 10 times. Why don't they have a "zoom" feature? *sigh*) I think it's Old Maid's Puzzle and definitely sashed & tied. So...what color(s) do you think it is :-)
ReplyDeleteWhite Christmas is my absolute favorite. Rosemary Clooney's voice is like velvet, and I can't get over Vera Ellen's dancing.....and her waist!!! Cripes! That's tiny!!! lol Enjoy your movies and binding!

ReplyDeleteWhile watching the sequel to Anne of Green Gables, Anne was walking through a French train station. The shot was from above and the floor tiles were fabulous...I paused the movie, took a picture of the screen and designed it on EQ while watching the remainder of the movie....now that is addicted to quilting!! Enjoy your 'seasonal traditions'!!

ReplyDeleteAlways looking for quilts in movies and shows. It is interesting to see some that seem to have patterns or fabric far in the future from the timeline of the movie or show.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm jealous - I love "Holiday Inn" but it is almost never on TV. I need to buy that movie before next Christmas. And yes, I am always on the lookout for quilts in movies and TV. Does anyone remember the program "The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd" and the quilt hanging on the wall behind her bed? I had to videotape that show so I could get a good look at the quilt.
ReplyDeleteI've watched both of those, and then last night it was "Christmas in Connecticut"--the old b&w version. Funny, I haven't noticed if there were quilts in that one. I usually look for those. Maybe I will have to replay it. : )

I have done that...stopping a DVD to see a sewing machine or a quilt. Little Women has many great quilts in it and Janet Leigh is using a hand crank sewing machine in the movie. I know I blogged about it eons ago.
ReplyDeleteI am pacing. I want to sew but I need to wrap gifts. I do have them all in boxes with tissue paper and the names on the bottom. That way I can assembly line wrap them. But I want to sew!!!!

ReplyDeleteThose are big favorites here too...but the season officially begins on Thanksgiving evening when everyone watches The Waltons: The Homecoming. I am an official It's a Wonderful Life junkie.
