LOL! Just please give me a head's up when you're going to include any of these on one of the Saturday garage sales...
ReplyDeleteYes, I would gladly take one of them off your hands!
DeleteWhat a lucky dog!
DeleteAh, Bonnie - a slippery slope it is! (from someone who isn't sure how many treadles and hand cranks she has right now...). Congrats on your find!
ReplyDeleteBeing new to your site, I just looked at the Vintage Sewing machines tab. You have 55 sewing machines listed there. I need to ask, how & where to you store all of these? I can tell from the posts that you rotate through which one you use. How do you decide which one you want to use when? Fascinating collection!
ReplyDeleteOh and its a two-toned one! Lucky you!
ReplyDeleteso jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteI too am so jealous. I have to hide my sm purchases. Family doesn't understand. But Bonnie, how many have you 'picked' up in the last couple of months?
ReplyDeleteif i had room....can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would. Just checked craigslist in my area. Found one. $250.
ReplyDeletelol!! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteYAY Bonnie!!! A LBOW (light beige off white) 301 is coming home to the herd. What a deal!! I'm so excited for you. Such a great deal AND with the case AND with attachments!! WOOO HOOO -- doin' the happy dance for you.
ReplyDeleteYes you did! Congrats on the great find! Mary Ellen may live in my neck of the woods. Craigslist hasn't unleashed many great finds in vintage sewing machines lately!
ReplyDeleteI paid $30 for one just like it at a garage sale last week, in PERFECT condition!!! Well maintained by it's original owner. Early Christmas for me!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think there is a 3 step program for a sewing machine addiction...
ReplyDeleteYou know I am jealous, Right! LOL
Hope to see your new baby tonight.
I grew up using that machine, it brings back memories of fighting with tensions!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely for that one!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I would but I don't look at Craigslist so I'll never see that. Just one more to LOVE, Bonnie. Hope it finds a nice spot on your shelf.
ReplyDeleteThat would be hard to pass up since that is one of my two favorite machines but I already have 3 I think! I find it safest to just stay away from craig's list! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think the next project on your home to-do list should be a room addition for your machines., lol
ReplyDeleteHeck yeah !!
ReplyDeleteDid you ever stop to think that there are people in your area that post these things knowing that you will come get them???? :)
ReplyDeleteWe're gonna run out of names, Bonnie! LOL
ReplyDeleteYes, my 301, bought for $10, is the best sewing of any machine I've ever sewn on! NO tension trouble EVER and she is dependable when the others are giving me fits.
ReplyDeleteLucy~
What fun! I'm so glad for you, Bonnie. I've always wanted a 301, but next best is seeing you get one.
ReplyDelete--C.B.
What happened to catch and release Bonnie, ROTFLOL!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh but it is a cute retro design, isn't it?
How cool! This is the kind of machine I learned to sew on! And in fact I just had a guy at work ask me this week if I wanted one for free! Are you kidding! Yes I want one for free! He has one that works that he was going to throw in the trash! Picking it up next week!
ReplyDeleteyes I would!
ReplyDeleteI love my 301A. My mom used to make my dresses on this machine. I call her "Betty" as that was my mom's first name. I love my machine and sews perfectly. Would love to get a different foot pedal. That one toe jobber is tricky!
ReplyDeleteI wish people around here had those kinds of sales!
ReplyDeleteand it even has a case too!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting!!!!Now how many machines do you own?
ReplyDeleteWow what a deal! You are one lucky Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteGreat deal... is this the new/old one? I thought I missed seeing it!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! How come all the ones I find in our area... are wayyyy over $100 or more?
Just goes to show, I'm not looking in the right places!
I have one and am tickled that you have one too. My mother last used it in 1976 and it sat until 2010 when I received it and took it in for a check up, expecting lots of problems. All they had to do was clean and oil and away she went. It is so special. I only use it once in a while, but feel the connection to Mom when I sit and sew on it. Yeah for you, Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteunder your influence I bought one off EBAY, which ended up NOT sewing, took it to the local guy. a regular cleaning/tune up and it is wonderful! glad you got the attachments too. Nice to chat with you in Marietta
