iPhone-O-Gram! Playing with Jacks, Tucson Style!

It's lunch break for our playing with Jacks class with the Tucson quilters Guild!

Which gives me a couple of minutes to edit down some photos quickly, and send them up to the blog directly from my phone –

We've got a full class full of happy smiling faces, rotary cutters whirring, machines humming, and scraps flying –

This little block is known by many names,  Including "jacks on six" due to the six half-square triangles that frame the center diagonal of the block.

I love asymmetrical blocks  and all of the different ways we can twist, turn and set them.

The fabrics and colors in today's class  are many – and we are making a great dent into our collections of 2 1/2 inch strips.

Much love from Tucson –

  5. I had to look twice-that is the same block known as "Hachet" when done in two colors-I just put together a top from scraps using 2 colors only in the blocks! Yep, different names for different color combos and different ares of the country! Looks like I may use up some more scraps for another batch of blocks! Were such fun to make and went quickly after cutting with Easy Angle! :)
