It’s drawing time!
I’m very excited for my winners on my giveaway, especially because they gave something back in return!
I wanted to do something different, and so I asked each entrant to please leave a favorite family holiday recipe in the comments section.
I wasn’t sure how many folks would do it, because it does take time to write it all down, or even to copy/paste it in the comments box, but you know what? 678 of you came through and provided us with a wealth of yumminess!
I thank you for participating in the fun and I hope there are recipes that YOU discover that you just have to try too!
To locate the recipes, click the recipes tab at the top of the blog. The very first entry will link you to the original post. You’ll find them all in the COMMENTS section until I find a better way to preserve them!
Let’s fire up the random number generator:

Would love to win - this is one of my family's favorites for over 30 years:
Zesty MeatballsOkay! I’m officially hungry now!!
3 pounds ground chuck
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1-1/2 cups bread crumbs
3/4 teaspoon pepper
1-1/2 teaspoons chili pepper
1/3 cup evaporated milk
oil
3/4 cup low-Sodium Worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup vinegar
24 ounces no-salt added tomato sauce
fresh chopped parsley
In a large bowl combine onion, pepper, chili powder, and milk. Add bread crumbs and ground chuck, mix well.
Shape into 1-inch balls. Cook in hot oil in a cast iron skillet until brown. Only cook one layer of meatballs at a time and it's better if they aren't touching. Drain on paper towel. (If oil gets too hot you may have to strain or use new oil to brown all of them)
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Place meatballs in a 13 x 9 x 2 baking dish.
Sauce: Combine Worcestershire sauce, sugar, vinegar, and tomato sauce in a saucepan. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and continue cooking/stirring 1 minute. Pour over meatballs. Don't stir.
Bake for 30 minutes. Garnish with parsley. Yield: 6 dozen
Great layered in crock pot and simmered all day instead of baking in oven. Don't stir!
Get me those addresses, ladies and these prizes will be on their way to you!

ReplyDeleteFirst time I've read your blog. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Made my first quilt about 30 years ago and have been an on again, off again quilter. Helped my daughter with a few twin size quilts and have mainly been doing baby quilts the past few years. My most recent "quilting" endeavor was upcycling a coffee table by decoupaging a tumbling block pattern of black, white, grays, creams and browns. I was quite pleased with the finished product. Thanks for the free patterns, etc. I Look forward to keeping up with your blog on a routine basis.
