Welcome to the Sunday Afternoon Edition of Quilt-Cam!
I can’t even remember the last time I was home on a Sunday and able to enjoy Quilt-Cam with those readers who are in our European time zones so they could join in LIVE.
Time zones are just a pain in the neck, aren’t they? No matter WHEN I air Quilt-Cam we will be leaving out half of the globe because they are either sleeping or it is the wrong time of day/night for them to join in.
And this is when I refer everyone back to the Quilt-Cam tab at the top of the blog…they are ALL there, in reverse order, most recent at the top!
If you view Quilt-Cam through the tab instead of just on YouTube you actually get MORE – because the post where the feed is embedded will show and tell you more background and photos about what I’m working on, or whose studio space I’m featuring or other photos and comments by readers.
That’s what the Quilt-Cab tab is for..so use it and use it often!
This photo comes from Julianne who writes:
Hi Bonnie!
Julianne from Placerville, Calif here, wanted to send you a picture of my beautiful mess while making Wonky wishes blocks.
Purring away on my vintage 301A (Beatrice). Thanks for all your wonderful patterns, I want to make them all! I am a true Bonniac, you are truly a sister from another mister!
Can't wait for Grand Illusion! Thanks!
I am also so excited for Grand Illusion! I love how this quilt turned out and I hope you will too. I’ve finished the binding on ONE side! 3 sides and the hanging sleeve to go! I want to get it finished this week so we can get the full out photo from the cabin.
I’m working here today!
I didn’t have time to switch out my pink Atlas for a new machine. I was going to, but time got away from me. That’s okay – the 1/4” seam I have marked on the machine bed will get me through the job I need to do today and perhaps I’ll switch out the machine for NEXT Quilt-Cam.
Up on deck – the baby quilt I am making for my nephew-to-be. The red blocks are almost finished being surrounded..I had to cut a few more rectangles, a couple had selvage in the way. I’ll start framing the others with the neutral strips and then will be adding some sew and flip corners Pineapple Blossom style. Not sure how far we’ll get today, but I’m ready to sew! Are you?
Click the screen below to start the feed.
This evening I’ll be drawing for the winners of our 100 blocks by 100 designers blog hop giveaway! Did you enter HERE?
Sew happy for quilt cam thanks Bonnie

Happy Thanksgiving from Winnipeg, Canada. Bonnie, do you have any idea how many quilts you have made?. Just curious. I am currently working on purging my studio. It's like Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration,
Susan

ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie! I'm listening in while I square up the quilt I worked on yesterday with the pieced batting. Thank you again for all your great tips!
ReplyDeleteLoris in Cambria,California :-)
Really stormy evening! My Celtic Solstice Quilt is travelling South, in my cousin's suitcase as she flies home to the Canary Islands.
ReplyDeleteI'm ripping out 2 duvet covers I bought in Ikea's sales bin, one for 14,95 € and the other for 1,99 € because it was torn in a corner. How many yards of fabric are there? They'll make wonderful backings.
I have been practicing with my brand new Easy Angle ruler, just finished a broken dishes quilt top. I'm definitely fit for the Mystery and convinced of your scrap user's system. Thanks for all you teach us!

Hi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteWorking on lunch right now as it is noon here in CO. Between that and potty training the toddler, I'm hoping to get some Christmas gifts worked on before the MQ. I also have to kit up parts for a girls day of quilting on Friday on top of mystery excitement. Crazy week of quilting and housework is optional. May have to do the crock pot cooking all week too. Now its time to eat and quilt :)
sewing some binding and some little alphabet blocks here in balmy 53 degree maine!
ReplyDeleteJoining in a little late but glad I checked the blog. You are wearing such a lovely is that turquoise colored shirt? Could this be a prelude to the mystery? thanks for all you do
ReplyDeleteVerna
Hi Bonnie from Shaylene in Connecticut! I've got about 12 Celtic Solstice blocks to finish during this quilt cam and then my King Size Celtic Solstice is done. I promised myself I could buy fabric for your new mystery quilt once the last one was done. Thanks for all you do and Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie! Nice to see you! Had my Thanksgiving yesterday, will be making Turkey Tetrazzini with the leftovers today. Working on a disappearing nine patch I hope to have done for Christmas, but I am the world's slowest quilter! Thanks for quilt cam!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie I am watching from Tzaneen, South Africa and am very much looking forward to this years mystery. I have made 2 of which Ocra Bay is displayed on my wall in the lounge and Easy Street was sent to our best friends in Germany. A long, long way from me. Loving working with scraps more and more. Thanks Karen Moore
ReplyDeleteBonnie, it's Finn in WI, good to see you live again. Tell the gal who isn't getting a tab to click to close out the window to Quiltville and re-enter. Blogger had some problems and the first 19 minutes were missing for me. I'll catch those later :- )
ReplyDeleteHi, Bonnie: Good to see you live again. I'm working on finishing a crib set for my newest grandbaby, binding to go on quilt and a crib skirt. I was going to miss the start of Grand Illusion because I was supposed to be leaving for Mexico today, but our trip was cancelled due to my brother-in-law having a (mild) heart attack on Thursday. He looks like is going to be fine (thank god) and we can always travel next year.
ReplyDeleteSo glad I could watch my first quilt cam!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving to your family!!
Hi Bonnie, great to be watching live in U.K. I am tacking at the moment, rows of blocks. They shifted every time I machined them together.
ReplyDeleteI totally understand not being able to get into your clothes. I was thinking that would be my 5 min today.
ReplyDeleteHi, Bonnie! So nice to see you live! Does anyone know the Styx song Grand Illusion? I am a Styx fan from WAAAAY back, and it's a beautiful song.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, youtube would most likely have it for anyone interested. Excited to sew a Styx song!
big hugs,
Amy in KY
I just saw two pink Atlas machines on ebay. Hope one of your viewers can get to them before they are gone.
ReplyDeleteJust finished a Quiltof Valor. Ready for the Mystery!
ReplyDeleteYou were missed in Shipshewana this week. From all of the Dear Jane quilter's talking about the upcoming mystery and Kevin the quilter , your biggest cheerleader, I have decided to join in. I promise to not post any deviations :) I have not had any finishes this year, but hope to get a start on next year with the mystery. Three weeks till graduation and then I'm free to be a crazy stitching lady again!
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie,
ReplyDeleteNice seeing you again. Two weeks since we departured the Navigator of the Seas. Not much fun to return to the Winter in Norway. Now I'm dreaming of joining you on the cruise NeXT October! It will probably not happend, but it would be awesome if I could.
Sheila (Catherine Redfords friend) brought my Smokey Mountain Stars quilt back home with her, so she'll have it sendt to me in January. Happy about that.
Enjoy your weeks at home!
:)Hugs from Siv Grefslie, Norway
Watching from Cary NC and getting ready to sandwich a couple of mini quilts ready to be FMQ. Can't wait for the mystery!
ReplyDeleteI personally like the darker blue.
ReplyDeletelighter ~ :)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for quilt cam! I normally work evenings 3-11 and it's a treat to be able to be able to watch a live session.
I personally vote for the lighter blue.
John! (aka Quiltin' Santa)
Hi Bonnie, the tacking worked brilliantly, so I might have finished the flimsy before THE DAY, Friday.
ReplyDeleteYea.
Hi Bonnie
ReplyDeleteThe light blue fabric is looking good - my favourite.
Glad to be able to join you live - I am in my pj's.
Thanks for quiltcam

LOL I just woke up here in Australia to catch the tail end of quilt came. I am doing the mystery this year it is my first one. Pauline
ReplyDeleteI like the darker blue. It makes the block pop.
ReplyDeleteI am sewing blocks for a Tipsy Tumbler quilt today. It has been a really bad week. My sister's husband of 61 years was taken off life support and passed away on Wednesday. I just needed something mindless to sew. That pattern doesn't require precision, just relaxing sewing while watching Quilt-Cam.

toss them all on both the blues and you'll know because they'll speak to ya ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Bonnie! Thanks for all you do! I vote for the darker blue, will pick up all the darker blues thru your blocks and will balance out the red!
ReplyDeleteYou will have red with blue and white stars! Sounds like a QOV quilt if you did not already have plans for this one! Take care, Leslie from Canada.

Yay! Finally figured out how to post! I like the light. I'm close to the Verona antique mall next time you're in the area.....stop by. I just LOVE you!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great to see you live. Thank you so much Bonnie. It's 8.30pm in UK so has made Sunday evening special. Looking forward to seeing the Grand Illusion revealed over the next few weeks. It's fun to see everyone getting organised and I looko forward to seeing everyone's interpretation of your ideas. Have a happy Thanksgiving. Sarah
ReplyDeleteQuiltyval think I could challenge you on worlds slowest quilter spent 6 hours today cutting/sewing/ripping out/sorting 1/4 inch seam guide/clearing thread Jam and ended up with one pieced square with two corner edges slightly short and baby quilt should be ready by end of week, had plenty of notice but procrastinated with choices , and researching ie wasting time!!
ReplyDelete3647Watch "after the fact" :) and thoroughly enjoying the delayed playback. In regard to the corner fabric for the light border blocks I just have a question: will the stars in the light blue fabric make it too light, because of the size? I like the dark, because of that. I know your choice will be perfect, even if it is a different fabric. Christine
ReplyDeleteBonnie I'd go with the lighter and brighter blue with the stars!
ReplyDeleteBonnie, thank you for teaching all the extra tips on the techniques for sewing the diagonals. Nobody but you would mention the fact that two hands evenly spaced on either side really helps!
ReplyDeleteHow often do you have a leader ender challenge?
