Sold, Sold, Sold!

I sold EVERYTHING that I had listed, and wow I wish I had the time to list more…..those of you who shopped, and those of you who listed….did you find this to be a fun thing?

Here’s the run down of who got what from me…..or who spoke up first!

Just because I have sold everything, doesn't mean that everyone else in the linky has, so be sure to double check what everyone else had going at the bottom of my post HERE!

In fact, *I* haven't had a chance to make the rounds yet and see what I missed out on because I have been teaching a class all day and just got back to my room.....

soldshirting

The shirting fabric went to Barbara who snatched this up almost as quickly as I posted it! I can’t wait to see what you do with it, Barbara!

BetseyG

Betsey G was first to claim the plaid and shirting blocks…..These are going to make such a cool cool quilt!

yardsalesaturday-007

I’m holding the shirting samples quilt top for Carolyn O who just asked if it was still available…which means, if she has changed her mind, it will still be up for grabs….I’ll let you know on this one.

yardsalesaturday-013

The 25 patch blocks were snatched up by Tanya S ----so as soon as her check arrives they will be winging their way to wherever she is. These blocks and the other plaid blocks received the most attention --- I’m so glad they are going to good homes!

yardsalesaturday-017

Judy M was first to BEG for the Double T quilt top, and there were several of you who wanted it! Now that I know I have a way to find new homes for some of my vintage goodies like this, I think another Yard Sale Saturday might be in order.

What are your feelings on it for those who participated? Leave a comment below to let me know if you would like to see this happen again, if you found it a fun and valuable resource for whatever you found that you couldn’t live without – and how often would you like to see us do this? I think every week is too much. I think once a month is still too much….but maybe every 2 or 3 months?

I want to remind those who participated that this was not a place to charge retail prices for new things. This is not a place to link to your full blog where you sell things all the time. This was to be page specific on just a few items you’d like to clear out ----and FUN for EVERYONE!

I am back to the room after spending the day with the Le Tort Quilters and a Sister's Choice workshop!! We had a great day --- there is more to write about. However, it’s cold and rainy and nasty out there and it can’t decide whether it wants to spit rain or get cold enough to snow. I’m going to tuck into my room, have a jammie sewing evening -- perhaps have pizza delivered.

Pardon me while I take time out to sew my brains out!

  1. I think this was super fun and would like to do it monthly. I posted 3 items and sold all 3, and I know I can find lots more to sell for next time. Thanks for hosting us!

I liked it. I didn't buy or sell anything as nothing really called out to me, but it was fun to go looking. I think once every couple of months would be fine, and I think it will pick up steam as you go!

Bonnie, I enjoyed seeing what everyone had up for sale, didn't buy anything today but I think this is a great opportunity for all involved. Happy stitching!

  6. I had fun...sold a few things, just added a few more this afternoon and purchased a few too....( I think it was more like a swap for me...what I sold...then I spent ) But that is how I roll most of the time!! I loved it!!

Great fun. Although I didn't buy anything, I was looking. I was hoping someone would have a Grace Pinnacle frame on. That's o.k. maybe the next time. Have a safe trip Bonnie.

This was great fun for a cold and rainy Saturday! I bought several things, and will be looking forward to getting some packages in the mail. I'll definitely be thinking of some things to sell the next time. Monthly would be good, I think.

  10. This was really fun. I didn't buy anything this time, but I sure enjoyed looking. I'm on the west coast, so I'll have to remember to set my alarm next time.

  15. Bonnie,
I just finished looking at all the links and was wishing more people were just selling bags of scraps. I am in need of black, red and cream scraps so I can make the Orca Bay Quilt but don't know how to find any. I entered stuff on Google to find Fabric Stash Exchanges with no luck. Do you know how I might be able to find someone who wants to get rid of their scraps and I am willing to pay for them. Daisy e-mail micha966@aol.com

Thank you for doing this, it made me be organized and 'fess up!
I hope you'll do it in a month or so, not too much longer, cause Ill find other things to sell too!
    Take care, Leslie

  17. Furniture isn't the thing to sell. I didn't even get a comment :(! Oh well, it was worth the attempt. Thanks Bonnie for providing the audience. If you do it again perhaps I'll offer something different. Sandi

  18. This was really fun. I'd love if you did it about every other month.

The only problem was that I was too late to buy any of the things I really wanted. The most interesting things to me were scraps, fabric, and UFOs. However, it did introduce me to several really nice blogs.

On the plus side, I sold two of the three things I posted. I would have posted more, but I forgot about the yardsale until I read your blog yesterday morning. If there's a next time, I'll have some blocks and scraps to offer.

  20. Thanks so much for organizing this! I sold everything I listed and more! I've been cleaning out my sewing room and stash for the last couple weeks and putting things for sale in my Etsy shop (which I'll continue to do), but this made it even easier! I never thought of packaging up scraps, although I see that's what several people were looking for. I DO need to clean out my scrap drawers--maybe I'll list some before the end of the sale. Thanks again!

Please do it again one Saturday.
