iPhone-o-gram! Good Morning, Sterling, AK!

We arrived last night about 11pm--3am North Carolina time.

The brain/body clock is deceived when its 10:30 pm and still very light out!

We were met by Cheri who escorted us to our home for this visit--a charming Alaskan cabin! Cozy, comfy, full of quilts and complete with a featherweight for my use while here.

We were fast asleep and comfy warm--awakened slowly as morning took over and our desire to explore our new surroundings kicked us in to gear.

A short walk to the river brought us face to face with the raw beauty of the Kenai river as it rolled swiftly down its course--

It's going to be an awesome day--and a memorable adventure here in Alaska-The Last Frontier!

  1. I have a silly question :-/ Why is the house you posted up so high? Is it because the river might flood? Just curious... the area is beautiful! Have a wonderful time!

  8. Love love love Alaska - to visit! And to do research - my paternal grandfather did the Chilkoot Pass in the 1890s and I want to try to find some record of his being there.

What a gorgeous place you get to stay in! I bet it is so peaceful and quiet except for the sound of the river. Ahhhh.....
