During introductions, as people gave their names, and mentioned where they were from, there was a loud gasp of awe as one gal announce she was here all the way from Fairbanks, over 500 miles away.
Quilters take their passion SERIIOUSLY! I love that!
Our day started with “The Anatomy of the 1/4” seam” focusing on the reason that our 4 patches needed to measure the same size as our background connector units –if they are too small, skinny that seam down!
It wasn't long before we had everyone happily sewing away – some finding they did better with the black guide completely removed from their presser foot so they could SEE what they were doing and what a difference it makes.
The morning flew by quickly and it was lunch time before we knew it…take a look at this spread:

Today we will be happily sewing away with crumbs, strings, and orphan blocks in my Love Shack workshop. It will be a fun day for sure.

ReplyDeleteIt's no wonder to me that someone would drive 500 miles for your class. Probably not that many national quilting folks make it to Alaska. And of course, there would be gluten free for you! We quilters take care of each other.
