Sitting in the airport in Seattle for hours while waiting for an afternoon flight--
I found myself falling in love with the tile in the ladies room.
Yes, I am easily inspired and amused while traveling with a quilter's eye.
The Hubster on the other hand--has downloaded episodes of Duck Dynasty
On his iPad and is having a hard te keeping his chuckles to himself!
We should be arriving in Greensboro by A bit past midnight tonight--looking forward to the comfort of my own bed!

ReplyDeleteI have fabric that will go so well with that!!
ReplyDeleteYou'll be coming home to lovely fall-like weather.
I understand. I found myself taking a picture of the tiles on the floor when my husband was in the hospital ... didn't share that with him because I told him I was totally focused on him and his recovery .... lol! The tiles were a starburst pattern made with squares and HSTs. Going to make a square one of these days just to see what it would look like.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your pattern for this one, Bonnie! It is a gorgeous floor and would be a beautiful quilt, as well!
ReplyDeleteLOL I have photos of bathroom tiles, kitchen tiles and many hotel carpets for inspiration. Good travels for you.
ReplyDeleteI think I took more pictures of tile mosaics in Italy than the actual sites!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not the only one running around taking photos of tile carpet wallpaper ect. Lol thanks for sharing all your trips with all of us. The pics are so cool andhistory would have been much more enjoyable with you years ago.

ReplyDeleteMy kids tell me I'm strange when I take photos of tiles, wallpaper etc, glad to see I'm not the only one. I do like the pattern of these ones though, never seen tiles like those. Have a safe trip home. Tried to check out Duck Dynasty on Foxtel the other week but by the time I knew it was on it was over, oh well maybe next time. Safe trip home, enjoy your own bed tonight. Julie (Australia)
ReplyDeleteYou should just be about home, welcome home! I really like that tile and w all paper. Thanks so much for the pics and the stories, I really enjoyed reading every time.
ReplyDeleteHappy travels. I wonder if we'll see a new quilt design in the not-too-distant future :)
ReplyDeleteOh my what a beautiful quilt that bathroom tile design would make, using Bonnie's scrappy fabrics and an Inklingo method to piece. It could be the next adventure after all the Hexie quilts are finished! LOL A few weeks my son and grandchildren introduced me to DD! What a hoot!
ReplyDeleteI then had my hubby watch it - boy the humor was right up his alley. Thanks for all the beautiful travel log pictures of your adventures and all the time and encouragement you give your quilt followers.
As I'm in Idaho, it was awesome to see your hubster is sporting the BSU shirt at the airport. :-)
ReplyDeleteBonnie - I'm like you (and a lot of other folks, I see!) - bathroom tile is gorgeous! Would love to make a quilt like that! Not sure how I would do on round circle pattern though - however might not be as bad as I fear!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back - pix have been gorgeous and my green eyes of envy are ALMOST soothed by your travel log pix and account!
Welcome home! It was nice to see SE AK through a tourists eyes and not just my own. Where is this bathroom at in Sea-Tac? And the seating? I travel through Seattle 4-8 times a year but this area isn't familiar to me. I'll have to look for it next visit.
ReplyDeleteglad you are home safe. My husband loves duck dynasty to
