Sadie and Beanie knew just how to spend the afternoon!
Mona and Beanie came over to sew and we had a great afternoon catching up.
It’s been a while since we were able to SEW together – the last time she was here was a cutting marathon!
But that cutting marathon has paid off and now we are both assembling blocks like crazy.
I am just so proud of her – this is quilt number 8 for her --
It’s my Friendship Cross from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
Great blocks, Mona!!
While Mona was sewing – I was working on…TADA! The MYSTERY for this year!
It’s almost September. The gauntlet has been thrown down. I need the TOP DONE by Oct 15th so that I can release the yardage requirements and background info to you so we will be ready when the first clue goes live November 27th. Are you getting excited? As these blocks come together – I am nearly GIDDY with this one. Just wait and see!
Did someone say TREAT!??
Last Night’s Hoop View!
At home I can never seem to settle into to hand stitch in the evenings as much because there is always “WORK” stuff to be done…but up here ---it’s perfect!
I’m playing “Clean the Cabin” this morning, and when all is vacuumed, dusted, bathrooms cleaned, kitchen floor cleaned, and fridge cleaned out and cooler packed, I’ll be heading down the mountain with Sadie for home.
Oh, and there was a 2.5 mile hike accomplished already this morning.
Don’t forget – Quilt-Cam tomorrow evening at 9pm Eastern!
Happy Monday, everyone!
LUCKY Mona! She got a sneak Peek...it will be fun to see if she joins the Mystery this time around. Beanie doesn't look as big when Mona is holding her. Glad she is having fun with you at the Cabin. Quilt #8? Good job! I love the Pink stars in your DJ you are quilting. Can't imagine making that quilt 2 times.
ReplyDeleteMona has well and truly been bitten by scrap quilting bug! How fun for you both to have the time together just to chat and sew. I am glad you got the weekend to relax a bit even if part if your sewing was on Mystery deadline! Have a great week Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteO.K now I've found the comment box after reading (& rereading) your instructions.

Looks like fun for you and your companions. Too bad that you can't have more time in your cabin... Anxious to see what your "GIDDYness" has in store for us this year. Sandi
ReplyDeleteAnticipating the mystery. My favorite time of the year.

ReplyDeletegramapama10@gmail.com,
So looking forward to the mystery quilt coming up. This will be my first. I'm plugging away on my tumblers. Finding your Quiltville Community has been a blessing for me. I will be joining you on Tuesday night Quiltcam. :)
Hi, Bonnie. I first saw your quilt cam from July while on vacation in Northern Minnesota. I was glad to have good WiFi up in the middle of no-where. I have since subscribed on Youtube and look forward to your next quilt cam this week. I will be either cutting fabric or sewing HSTs for a quilt top with Minnesota Shop hop fabrics. I also just spotted your upcoming class beginning in October and plan on signing up next week. I'm in need of all your tips and tricks to become a more confident quilter. Thanks for the no-nonsense quilty videos I've already enjoyed...

I just get so excited when thinking of the mystery quilt! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us.😀
ReplyDeleteHey! You answered one of my concerns about quilting in a hoop! Thank you! I did find more info under your tips heading. I love all those little blocks in that quilt. I'm going to check if you made a pattern for that. If not.....would love to buy one!

The quilt you are hand quilting is lovely. In one of your posts about it, could you please tell us what you use to mark your design? Just curious since you have to mark both light and dark fabrics. All of your quilts are so pretty. I'm looking forward to the mystery quilt
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mona on Quilt #8! And I can't wait to see your DJ in pink and brown completed!Keep at it, you WILL finish! aby.quilts@gmail.com
