Welome Home Mail Bomb!

20141227_120649
“Welcome home!”  said all of the mail piled up on my kitchen counter!

“We’ve missed you”  said all of the bills, ads, circulars and credit card opportunities in waiting!

How much mail can pile up in a week?

Evidently ---

THIS MUCH!

So I did what most folks would do…sorted out the junk and pitched it, pulled out stuff for other members of the family and put it in their piles, making mine look instantly smaller.

And then I called my mom and talked to her using my new bluetooth headset, a gift from my son Jeff, and tackled the rest because this was going to take a while to open!

((Loving the headset!  I talked more about it this morning HERE))

And by the time our phone conversation was over, I had read her each and every card and told her about all of the goodies I had been mail bombed with!  Or is it, all of the goodies where with I had been mail bombed?

Oh, BTW. I am searching for BARBARA RIMMER from Rockwall, TX.  She sent a check, it says 2 books…doesn’t say WHICH 2 books, and the phone number on her check is incorrect.  If anyone knows Barbara, could you have her email me at quiltville@gmail.com please?  THANK YOU!

Thank you thank you each and every one!

I’m sorry that it was 2 days after Christmas before I discovered all of these wonderful cards and fabric swatches and goodies that had been sent by you.  I feel the love!  I do!  And some of you fed the quilter, but that is okay….I’m excited to add your pieces to my stash and sew them up into something beautiful!

From the Post Office, Wallburg, North Carolina!

My reason for leaving the cabin a day early – I needed to get as many orders out as I could before they closed at noon.  And I made it with 5 minutes to spare!  All of those who had been waiting for 200 blocks by Quiltmaker Magazine to come in now have their orders on the way.  And some others too.  If you ordered from me in the past week while I’ve been gone, as long as you didn’t order Scraps & Shirttails II which is still waiting arrival after being reprinted, your orders are also on the way.

And just when I thought I had gone as far as I could go…3 more have come in this evening, but no fear!  They will go out on Monday!

I can always hope that the Scraps & Shirttails II will arrive tomorrow.  Does UPS deliver on Sundays??  **Hoping**

Tonight’s sewing!  Back to the Spider Web!

The baby quilt is done. The other project got left up at the cabin for my return.  Quilts are bound, except for Box Kite which has about 12” of binding left, and a hanging sleeve to attach.  I've left that at the cabin for "Next time" too.

I’ve pulled this back out, and I’ll be working on it this evening, and for Quilt-Cam tomorrow afternoon at 2pm EST – Fingers crossed that I can get it to connect!

My set up – Watching Gilmore Girls!

One previous episode had a treadle machine in the kitchen.  This episode…vintage string quilt on the stair well wall:

Okay, so they could have picked a prettier quilt..hahahah!

I’m getting excited about my trip to Texas this week, followed by Arizona a week after.  I’ve taken care of all the paper work, I’ve pulled the quilts I need to take and packed them so they are ready to go.  All that is left to handle is my own clothing suitcase and my projects to bring and I am on my way.

Have a great Saturday Evening, everyone!  It’s the LAST Saturday of 2014…make it count!

  2. Happy I was able to sneak in a little quilting time this evening; I'm all caught up on the mystery! Can't wait for the next (final??) clue. We're having family over tomorrow for dinner, so I won't be able to watch Quiltcam :( Have a great trip to Texas!

  3. I recently found your channel and am watching the archives on Youtube. So nice to have someone else in the room while I sew (who doesn't ask for anything, lol)! Not working on GI quilt but making charity gift bags, baby quilts, and have decided to try your Leaders and Enders project....great idea! Cutting up my neutrals this weekend.

Have enjoyed every presentations. Hoping to catch it live one day.

  6. Home already? I thought for sure you would stay at the cabin until time to leave for Texas, but good for us since I am definitely up for Quiltcam tomorrow. I have been working on Hawks Nest, the borders are giving me some grief , I think I have ripped as much asI have sewn. Lol finally almost have one border done then on to the other three! Sure hope I pay more attention tomorrow and don't have to reverse sew , although the I did get a beautiful new handmade seam ripper for Christmas. See you tomorrow!
