Quilt-Cam 12/10/2014 is CANCELLED!

anitacherry1
Due to a non-functioning google hangouts, Quilt Cam is now CANCELLED for tonight.

I'm Sorry Everyone!!

It won't show my video..just my profile photo.

We will try another time!

Look at what Cherry sent in of her sweet featherweight!

Of course it is “Deep Cherry Red!”

She’s busy sewing Grand Illusion Part 1 units together….what a happy sight!

She writes:

Hi Bonnie,
So glad that GI mystery has finally begun.
This is my 1949 Featherweight that was recently repainted, all set up working on Clue #1 earlier today while I was watching archived episodes of Quilt Cam.
What a difference it make to sew HSTs on a single needle hole plated straight stitch only machine!  My Singer Scholastic loved eating the HST from Celtic Solstice last year  - never again!
All piecing will now only be done on my FWs or my 301A. Also loving the narrow feed dogs!
Thanks for everything you do and for getting me totally hooked on vintage machines. I recently took possession of a friend's treadle that needs lots of cleaning and some TLC to get her up & running but I will.
Cherry
Sometimes our enjoyment of the entire quilting process is simply about finding the right tool for the job. In this case…changing machines!  So happy you are happy with this sweet number, Cherry!

Would you believe I haven’t TOUCHED this project I’m working on since last Quilt-Cam?  It must be the slowest growing baby quilt on the planet.

But SO MUCH ELSE has been going on.

So let’s continue.

Where we left off:

20141210_202023

Getting there!

The sew & flip corners are on all the red framed blocks.  I’m in the process of putting the blue sew & flip corners on the neutral framed blocks.  Not quite done chain piecing the first corner on that batch – so we will pick it up there and work our way around all 4 corners tonight.

I’d like to start putting these together by next time!

Check my needle placement!

My needle is just to the RIGHT of the drawn line, into the seam allowance so that the line will fold up and be right on top of my thread after sewing.  This is just the same as our Grand Illusion Mystery part 2!

How are you coming with those?

Part 3 goes live Friday morning!

Have you checked out all the entries in this week’s Mystery Monday Link-Up? Over 200 linkies so far!  EXCITING!  And I’m also loving the reverse order, so that first ones are at the bottom, later ones are at the top, so you don’t have to scroll and scroll to see what you missed if you are visiting again and again.  Check it out!

Also going on…a Giveaway!  I’m participating in a blog tour and giving away a copy of Sujata Shah’s Cultural Fusion Quilts.  Enter to win by commenting on that post.
