Look What’s Going On Over at C&T!

favoritequilt2
I was recently interviewed by Heather Kojan as a “Getting to Know You” for the C&T Blog!

This all coincided with my 2nd Monday of the month postings over at C&T and I was really happy to answer each question as frankly and inclusively as I could.

If you head on over to the C&T blog, you just might find something out about me that you didn’t know.

For instance – what is this crazy pieced patch doing on top of this humming bird quilt?

Please leave a comment on the page letting them know that you read my interview. Please leave any comments or questions there so that they know you are reading!

I look forward to learning more about the other C&T authors and designers as well!

I was also going to do a Quilty Box extravaganza giveaway, but upon reading the email that was sent to me, I need to wait a couple of days to reveal that goodie.  Oh darn!

And it’s a good one!  So that will be coming soon.

While you are here, I have need of your help!  This just in from Carolyn at Quiltmaker Magazine:

Guess where I am!

20160513_182014

Flags wafting on the breeze!

It’s not as stately as the porch at the Grand Hotel, but this one is MINE!  And the trees have leaves.  And the breeze is warm, not ice cold to-the-bone chilling.  And there is a little brown dog by my side waiting for Jeff to come up after his workday is over.

I finished all of my desk work and book order filling, dropped those off at the post office at 2:30, ran to the bank, the Sew and Vac shop, and Costco and hit the road for the mountains. It will be a short weekend up here, I have to return on Monday but this is just the respite I need after the busyness of the past week in Michigan!

It's not glamorous, and it certainly doesn't require 11 pieces of silverware but there is chicken tortilla soup on the stove and it smells wonderful. Let the weekend begin!

The Hubster has a tennis tourney all weekend, so rather than stare at 4 walls in my basement studio at home, I’ll be relaxing up here.

And there will be sewing.  And lots of napping.

Life is good!

  1. It turned cooler but it is nice. Yesterday was too hot for this time of year. Have a good weekend.

  2. In the 70's here! Not usual for this time of year. And our trees are fully leafed out, unlike those on Mackinac Island. Enjoy your weekend at the cabin, even if it's short!

  3. I can't comment on the other site, because it wants to access my account and I can't do that - but this is what I wanted to say:
Bonnie Hunter!! You are the only person over whom I have ever been totally star-truck. Not a movie star or superhero, Bonnie Hunter. Then I met you - and I discovered that you are a genuine, true, and unabashedly REAL PERSON who happens to have been graced with talent and passion and enthusiasm for sharing all of yourself with all of us. Bonnie, we ask if you sleep, not because there is any "shame" in all that you do- how could there ever be?! - but because you accomplish more in a day then lots of us do in a week - and with such positive notes and such love and beauty. I know I am not the only one who aspires to and has grown from the many many lessons - quilting lessons and LIFE lessons - that you have shared, and I am grateful for all that you do for all of us, all the time.

  6. I am trying to find the pattern for Periwinkle and cannot find one that replicates the antique quilt you share. Any ideas about where to look? I keep finding the patterns that when sewn end up with a circle pattern between blocks. I like the dimensions of the one you have. Karen

Love the pictures of your flag flying -- makes me almost feel the breeze! I also love the quilt photos and quotes you usually post at the end of your postings. And I love your patterns anyplace --- and your blocks in Addicted to Scraps. Just wish I could make everything you show but haven't got enough scraps to do that and not yet desperate enough to chop up FQs! GGG!
