Quiltmaker Sept/Oct ‘19 Gift-Away!

Autumn is right around the corner!

And since I am on my way to Mississippi today, I thought this would be the perfect time to share with you just what is found in the September/October 2019 issue of Quiltmaker, and throw in a little give-away at the same time!

i can feel it on the horizon, that imminent change of seasons.  Can you?

Are you getting a feel for things that turn from green to gold to orange and rust?  Beautiful shades of red and brown?

Cooler temperatures also bring on the desire to dig in to projects, getting things ready for the holidays that come on the heels of the first nod to fall.

Below are a few of my favorites from this issue:

Beautiful Autumn in Boston on the cover -

A yummy uptake on the blooming nine-patch, pattern found on page 56 and made by Stephanie Sheridan of Carrolltown, PA.`

The Great Pumpkin -
Page 11

I love this 57 ‘’ x 78’’ throw size quilt designed by Diane Harris of Bladen, NE.  Isn’t it adorable?  Perfect for couch snuggling on cool autumn mornings.

Harvest Sampler-

This beauty includes everything from applique to piecing with several block and unit sizes all combined into a beautiful quilt designed by Sharon Dennel Parcel of Leese Summit, MO.

Masquerade -

If medallions are your thing – check out Masquerade by  Elaine Theriault of Mississauga, Ontario Canada.  There is also an extensive Designer Spotlight article about Elaine on page 44 – fabulous!

Aunt Dinah

I love this little block and all of the possibilities that come with it – it would make a great connector block with those Brave New World units in the corners – I can’t wait to use this one in a future quilt – ideas are already spinning!

This Gift-Away is jam packed with goodies!

Not only will our winner receive the Sept/Oct ‘19 Quiltmaker, but also Volume 16 of 100 Blocks by 100 designers, a Sherbet Delight pattern, a Key West Block Ruler set, Sew Tiles Mixer magnetic sewing pins, a Sunflower Quilts thread cutter, and my 2 1/2’’ x 6 1/2’’ Quiltville Creative Grids ruler!

I’ll be drawing for our winner after I return home from Mississippi, so be looking for that to happen on Monday, August 19th.

Good Luck, everyone!

And with that, I’m off to Vicksburg, MS for 4 days of workshops with a bunch of fabulous folk!

Quiltville Quote of the Day

(I'm feeling orange season coming on!)

Comparing yourself to someone else's progress is a downward spiraling path of doom.

Everyone's growth is different. Celebrate your own progress, no matter how small you think it is.

Have a wonderful Tuesday - I am airport bound!

  10. I'ld love to win the contest, but may not be in the right place. Oh well. I'm going to cut felt leaves and sew the stems in. It looks like they'll curl up from the picture. I find your blog happy and inspiring.

  11. Your energy continues to amaze me. Do I sense a mystery quilt coming in gorgeous fall colours? I am so looking forward to the next mystery quilt. I have not bought fabric for over a year - never have been a "I must have it" fabric shopper and yet - somehow I have scraps galore! I have lots of tops that need to be sandwiched, but I don't have any fabric large enough for backings!! Oh well, I am sure I will get there someday lol. Roll on mystery quilt.
