In the Land of No WiFi!

Just a note to let you know that we are wifi-less for the next couple of days.

And it is ALL good!

We are in Eastern Oregon, between Baker City and Sumpter staying at our friend's cabin until Friday when we will make our way over to Garden Valley, Idaho to visit my mom.

This reminds me quite a bit of being in China where I could get my cell phone to publish an email to the blog, but I cannot access the Internet by my laptop at all.

I think the universe is trying to tell me something!

We are having a great time! Yesterday we drove out to the absolute middle of nowhere to visit an old gold mining town that has been going since the 1860s.

Few folks still live out here, and though the surrounding area is gorgeous, I hear it is quite brutal in the winter.

More details to come, but I hope you enjoy the few photos I can post by email - This is Granite, Oregon!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Just in case you are doubting (and we all do from time to time,).....repeat 3 times to yourself and then send it to a friend who needs it!

  3. Yep, Winters are bitter in the Blue Mountains. I live in the foothills, we get dumped on every time it snows. If the universe is telling you to un plug DO IT!
Glad you can spend this time with family. Our Fair Starts today in Walla Walla! You're just a short drive away, lol

  4. oh thank goodness, I can get my fix today!!! I so enjoy reading your blog every morning and seeing the pictures of your beautiful areas, which I will probably never be able to visit, but I live in hope! We are now going into Summer and it is going to get really humid which gets to me, so I LOVE seeing the snow pictures you post. Having never seen or been in the snow, I can never understand the difficulty of it. Enjoy your short break and looking forward to all your Quiltville Inn pics again. Much love from South Africa!! :)

  9. Isn't it ironic that some days we lament our constant connectivity and then when we lose it, we feel uneasy. Happy Anniversary and enjoy your time with your Mom.
