Irish Courthouse Pattern available as a digital download!
I know you’ve been waiting for it – And I said it would happen in September, but you know how my September went.
I taught this pattern in August during our Quiltville Summer Series hosted by Mary Koval and Mary’s Quilt Shop in Bedford, PA – and it was a hit!
This was our “Surprise” class, and the quilters had no idea what they were making – they had cut “VAGUE” rectangles ahead of time in a semblance of “kits” but no real clue what they were going to be creating.
And it was a WONDERFUL easy way to make many blocks without having to deal with triangles or specialty rulers of any kind.
Using each block “kit” as the leader & ender for the other!
Two blocks in the train – an engine, and a caboose!
It’s easy to keep the pieces sorted that way without too many blocks in progress.
Check out Sue’s with the black backgrounds! Awesome!
She said she had a whole stack of the fruits and veggies fabrics that had been sitting unused for a long, long time and a surprise project may just be the best way to use them up – isn’t this fun?
Block by block, they came together not knowing what they would be making!
These are wonderful!
Seeing these smiling faces bring me back to how much fun this series was!
How are your quilts coming, my friends??
Full quilt hanging!
93’’ x 93’’

Quiltville Quote of the Day!
This pumpkin quilt was made by my friend Lisa and I believe it's a pattern by Lisa Bongean.
I love having it front and center as part of my autumn décor!
Let’s kick start this day into an terrific month ahead -
Love the pattern.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who asked me 2 years ago to make her a quilt. She won't give me colors, patterns or even size, so I have gone through your books, bought fabric and still couldn't decide, BUT TODAY!! Today you have given me the perfect solution, love this pattern, am definitely in quilt mood, October is the perfect month, thank you, Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! I have been looking forward to this pattern ;) October is the BEST month of the year in my book! Did your colorful elastic shoes hold up well? Thank you Bonnie!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great design!
ReplyDeletei am so happy for your new pattern... hoping it will jumpstart my lost quilting mojo... been doing a bit of crochet gift hand work, but just missing the quilting, yet cannot seem to get going... sigh... thanks, too for the crock pot recipes... and for all you do and contribute to my life... Cats, Carlsbad, CA
ReplyDeleteYour Irish Courthouse quilt is awesome! I just finished piecing my second set of Scrappy Trips blocks and I love the colors I used - controlled scrappy. I also am anxious to get my Checkerboard Rails quilted but haven't been able to decide on a good design. You come up with the most fun designs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt (of course). The possibilities are endless. Gotta go check out the digital downloads. Thanks Bonnie for all you do.
ReplyDeletePamela D., I purchased two pair of the elastic shoes and love them. Have worn them almost daily for about six months. They have held up better than any other pair of shoes I have and are just as comfy as the day I received them. I bought the ones with a wedge heel as I can't wear flat shoes. I would recommend them to anyone.
:) Thank you! They are just too cute and look so comfy. :)
DeleteI love this quilt and will order the pattern when I get to my desktop. I am just back fro two weeks in Maine and Europe so having a time to adapt back to my own time zone!
ReplyDeleteAnd the pumpkin qult - be still my heart. Love primitive wall hangings like this. Must find the pattern.
Thank you, Bonnie. It's a gorgeous quilt. Love all the happy, smiling faces. Lucky them to make it with you!
ReplyDeleteLove that pattern. I just purchased it. I love the one with the black background.
ReplyDeleteOctobers are tops!!!
ReplyDeleteWell here I am in Ireland, the first night of a two week trip and what do I see, an Irish quilt. I had to have a little chuckle. X
