Evening Edition: Free Kindle Book!

bytheseatess
It’s been a while since I posted any of these…my kindle was full and I’ve been wanting to read what was already on my device before continuing to add more content.

A heads-up on Facebook alerted me to this one, and it sounded too good to pass up.

How many of us are waiting for the next Downton Abbey season to start up again? I know I am!

By the Sea: Tess is free tonight on amazon.  It may be for nook and other formats too, you’ll have to check.

In the tradition of Upstairs, Downstairs and Downton Abbey, BY THE SEA is a four-book series that sweeps from the Gilded Age through the Gatsby Era's Roaring Twenties and then on to the Great Depression, culminating nearly a century later in Newport, Rhode Island, wealthy and alluring "City by the Sea."

Set against a backdrop of mansions, the glorious America's Cup Yacht Races, and new money, the series traces the passions and adventures of three families from three different classes.
Book One: TESS.  From the wild decadence of late nineteenth-century Newport comes the tale of Tess Moran, a beautiful Irish housemaid in one of the grand summer "cottages," who makes a dark bargain with a man of commanding wealth -- and falls in love in the bargain.
Please double check before clicking to purchase that it is still free for you as these offers can end at any time.

I’ve just returned from a yummy dinner out with the program chair for the Rio Grand Valley Quilters, Alice.  We’ve had a great evening getting to know each other, she is a fun gal to talk to!

I’ve got her spare machine with me for some hotel room sewing during the duration of my stay ---I may sew a while tonight, and here and there over the 4 nights that I’ve been here, but I think bed will call me early tonight since I’ve been up since 3:15am Eastern time this morning.

Tomorrow is another Quilty Day!

Thanks for the heads up. It was still free as of 5:15 pm Alaska time (that's 9:15 Eastern). I can't wait for Downton Abbey. My PBS station has been replaying all 3 seasons, and I must confess, I was in Ireland in October and caught one episode of Season 4 - can.not.wait. LOL

Thanks for the info about the book. Got it free and it only cost £4 for the other 3 books so I just downloaded them all ! I love these ki.d of stories. The new series of Downtown Abbey is being televised at the moment in Scotland. Glad you gals like it over there in USA. You won't be dissapointed as it is great. Last year I went to a quilt exhibition and some of the outfits worn in the show were on display. Lovely to see the fabrics chosen and the workmanship in the garments. Still keeping thought for you and your brother. Jennifer

Thanks, Bonnie. I got my free Kindle book last night, and I'm looking forward to starting the series. I cannot wait for Downton Abbey to resume!

Thank you so much Bonnie! NHL hockey season is in full swing here in our household. With the division realignment games start as early as 6:00 pm (versus 9:30pm). When I'm not sewing on a "Bonnie" project, I like to read. Hockey is background noise while I'm reading a great book. Looking forward to it. Helps me adjust to the time change too!
