Say hi to the gals from the Stitch Mob of Missouri and beyond!
We are having a wonderful time visiting, stitching, creating, and EATING some really good meals!
Yesterday's lunch fair was a Frito bowl with all of the best toppings and a luscious bread pudding for dessert.
I don't know how it didn't put any one of us in a nap-needed food coma before we could go back and sew some more.
Karen has her Shoo Fly Shoo blocks up on the wall!
And just check our here gorgeous Garlic Knots finish!
I love it with the dark background!
She set right in to get the border on her Christmas version of Bear Branch.
In another corner I spied Pineapple Blossom from the Free Patterns tab, and Hand Me Downs from Scraps & Shirttails.
Later in the day, those Pineapple Blossom Blocks were being laid out and sewn into a top!
Is there anything more lovely than pink chain-piecing on a beautiful vintage featherweight?
These blocks are the result!
Kelly is working with some vintage string blocks -
SO cute!
And speaking of vintage fabric love:
Chiquita has had this lovely vintage hexagon top machine quilted, and is ready for binding - It's BIG and beautiful and she intends to put it on her bed. The fabrics are so much fun!
What is going on here?
Tanya has taken a deep dive into finishing her gray string border units for her Grassy Creek quilt!
Birthday girl Jessica is stitching up a pile of scrappy Tatami blocks!
Go, Jessica go!
She also received a special birthday gift by mail from a friend who knew she'd be here - it's a ruler safe! Have you seen these?
It's foam lined and a safe way to keep your long rulers from breaking (or getting misplaced) when traveling to retreats far and wide!
We are all celebrating today with Jessica, and so happy she brought her Stitch Mob to retreat this week.
As for me? The photos I took of my border units for the upcycled shirt quilt didn't take? Did I mash the button hard enough? I have no idea - it was just not on my camera this morning.
So I will get one later. Promise.
Now that the units are done I can start putting borders together and get that top finished.
So since it is Friday -
I'll leave you with this giggle!
What do you have on deck for today?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
I love this quote by Georgia O'Keeffe! I can so relate, can you?
I never felt like an artist, or that I could be considered an artist until I discovered quilting.
Now, if only our quilts could talk!
Happy Friday, folks!
I love seeing t h e fun blocks on the walls of the Quiltville Inn. What fun to get a birthday package at Retreat. If quilts could talk? Oh mine definitely would be telling ne to hurry up and finish them October 31st is coming. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeletemuch like those sad, old abandoned farm houses in your area, if only the quilts could talk, or at least some of the fabric! I so long to visit w/families that lived in some of those houses you share with us, what's their story? How come they're no longer living there? Where'd they all go? Thank you for sharing, Bonnie...

Your Walmart clip is so true! At our Krogers they seldom even have one cashier anymore and I HATE doing a cartload at self serve, so I've stopped going there except for milk runs. Lots of really good quiltwork showing this week!
ReplyDeleteI love the vintage hexie quilt. It's so colorful and vibrant!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful quilts going on there..love them all..
ReplyDeleteI went goodwilling this morning ..I went to 3 different ones. 2 we're no longer goodwills
Loved your "giggle" for today. My husband refuses to use the self-checkout. He says he will when they put him on the payroll. Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteA highlight of going into any store (for me) is chatting with the staff at checkout. It can be just a moment of shared goodwill both ways. I could handle self checkout but I refuse to start.
ReplyDeleteI would love to make that leaf stacks, not yours, but very Bonnie-like.
