Sept/Oct '21 Quiltmaker Gift-Away!

I am so happy that September has arrived and ALL THINGS FALL are filling my field of vision!

Bring on the oranges and golds, the rusts and the browns - and the pumpkin spice flavored and scented EVERYTHING!

My September/October 2021 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine is in the house and chock full of delicious autumn projects that have me jonesing to play with all of the colors of nature - even if we are still very much in summer weather here in Virginia.

But it can feel all earth-toney on the INSIDE if we choose to quilt that way, right?

Someone is going to get this lovely issue directly from me!

(Thank you Quiltmaker for sending me TWO of them!)

Just one glace at the projects in the index and WOW!

Here are a few of the projects that caught my heart -

Cactus Bloom by Heather Kajan.

Isn't this gorgeous?

I can see this in Halloween prints too!

This is Maze Run by Scott Flanagan!

Bring on the pumpkins!

Just The Right One is made by Charisma Horton.

Autumn Acorns by Jo Moury.

Sharon Denney Parcel made Sharon's Stars!

And this little ditty??

This is our Addicted to Scraps column block for the September/October 2021 issue!

A simple little bock called Triplet.

I have big plans for this one - I started pulling strips out last week.  And yes, it is Scrap User's System friendly, and also Essential Triangle Tool ready!

If you can see how the four blocks come together to create a self imposed sashing - it's going to be a fun one.

And the cutting directions are in the September/October '21 issue of Quiltmaker!e

To sweeten the deal -

I have pulled together a fun array of items to add to the gift-away.

A Colorscope to help you choose the best color combinations.

A ZappyDots magnetic needle box and pin.

A spool of Aurifil 12 wt embroidery thread.

A small rotary mat by Olfa.

And a sweet thread snips I brought home personally from Japan the last time I was there. The little case is handstitched by the maker I purchased it from at the International Quilt Show in Tokyo.

Would you like to win this prize pack?

And since I have you here -  it's time to draw for our winner of the August '21 Quilty Box!  For more information on this box, visit the original post HERE.

News from the Homefront -

The September Quiltvillians have all arrived and were having a grand old time when I checked in on them before I took myself off to bed last night.

I'm excited to see them all - a few arrived later in the evening after I had already gone home for the night.

Tropical Storm Ida came through and dumped quite a bit of rain off and on through yesterday, but this morning we are greeted with blue skies and sunshine.

It's going to be an awesome day!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Tropical Twist quilt from my book Addicted to Scraps on deep discount in the Quiltville Store.

Let's spread MORE appreciation around!

Happy Thursday, everyone - almost to the weekend already!⁣

  1. Something I've wondered about, if we don't press the Tweet button after we enter your drawing, are we still entered? I apparently am a rare bird who doesn't Twitter. Glad Ida didn't cause any damage in your area.

  2. Love that Cactus flower block! In looking up the quilt designer, I discovered a typo in her name. It is Heather Kojan ... o not a.

  4. Bonnie, Scott Flanagan recently sold his Fremont, NE fabric shop is concentrating on design. I love his quilts. He as a BOM coming in January called "Illusions" Fremont is about 15 miles from Blair Nebraska, Acme Fabric and Quilt Shop, which you visited and experienced 4 seasons in 1 day.

  5. I love your Triplet block. When I saw it in Quiltmaker magazine I thought this is a great block to do a lot with. Want to start something now, but have to wait until I get moved. Next month, October, I’m moving. Will be so happy to get it over with. Then sit up my quilting room and the sewing will begin. Hurrah 😃. Have a great day Bonnie.
