Quiltville Cruise, Day 6!

20151009_113958
Hands down, this has been the BEST CRUISE EVER!

I think loads  of the ladies would agree with me.

Besides the beautiful weather and the gorgeous ports of call, what did they like best?

The ability to choose a machine to sew at ALL WEEK LONG and not have to move rooms or stations.  I agree!  It’s been so laid back, and they have had so much production time around all of the other ship’s activities that everyone has gotten SEW MUCH DONE!

This happens when I am the only teacher on a cruise.  We can’t take as many students on board when I am the only teacher, but that allows me to spend as much time with each and every one.

Yes, we weren’t able to make our first port of call in Coco Cay due to the rough seas and inability to tender in to the island, but that just meant an extra sew day, and we were all happy with that!

Christine’s quilt in progress!

See how much we are getting done??

The only thing that has been an “understandable” pain is how slow the wifi is – but then – wifi in the middle of the ocean?

It’s kind of a miracle in itself and though it has taken more than 2 to 3 hours to upload blog posts, I just set my computer up in the classroom and let it take its time, checking in case it has timed out, and then set it to roll again.  I am so happy to be able to share this cruise with you as it is happening!

Sewing away on the cruise vacation of a life time!

I love all of these smiling happy faces!

Because it takes so long to upload the photos to the blog, I’m going to try a bit of something different, maybe a slide show won’t take as long in the long run….

Click the image below if you are unable to view the slide show on your mobile device.  You’ll be taken to the photo album for viewing.

  4. This looks like a great time! I've only ever worked with my mother on quilts it would be so much fun to be in a large group of quilters learning new techniques, receiving constructive criticism, and just having a blast! Also, what else am I expected to do on a ship? (Ok, I'd swim, tan, and eat shrimp cocktail like my life depended on it.). Hope to join you on the sea someday!

  6. That slide show was great! Looks like fun was had by all.

What did the women do to avoid sea sickness? That is a big question of mine before I go on a quilting cruise!
