Indiana Bound! (And Much Show & Share!)

I am off to the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show today-

Which is a perfect time for me to share some quilty goodness from last week!

I have to remind myself that Good Fortune was revealed the first week of January – and these quilts were being shown at the end of February closing in on March 1st – that’s not quite 2 months and they are DONE!

Each one as lovely as the next -

And I love the different border treatments!

All of them WONDERFUL!

Some larger, some smaller!

And some just getting started!

Some in a medium size, with some slight color changes – ooohhh!

This made MY HEART so happy!  And that wasn’t all!  Catch the rest of our Show & Share from 4 days of workshops in Denton hosted by Minding My Ps & Qs Quilt Shop!  Click to play:

I just love our parade of quilts at the end of our lunch breaks - it's the best part of the day!

Yesterday’s #IGquiltfest prompt for day 5 – NOTIONS!

I took a quick glance at my sewing table and noticed a few trends.

If one seam ripper is good, 9 is better! These were all at one machine!

Every sewing machine needs a full donut of bobbins!

I love my Zirkle pin catcher, and so do the bobbins so I keep them in separate camps!

I also love a variety of thread snips and keep things separated and corralled with vintage glassware. I love the pink depression glass pedestal bowl for holding threads with snips and other tools in the holes around the rim.

The clear heavy crystal relish dish was picked up in Georgia on a trip and it holds a couple of walking feet, some needles and needle threader, my seam guide which I can't live without and an oil applicator.

Today’s prompt is Scrap Quilt – that one will be easy – TAKE YOUR PICK!!

I’ll keep up with the prompts as I can, but it may fall by the wayside during busy teaching days ahead.

As this posts – I’m grabbing my bag and headed back to the airport and off to Indy – busy bag at the ready, and block parts for evening stitching in my suitcase.

This girl travels prepared!

This one isn’t so happy that I’m leaving again so soon!

I’ll be back Sunday, Lola – keep that spot warm for me!

Quiltville Quote of the Day
Vintage 16 patch quilt found in North Carolina.

Instead of putting others in their place, put yourself in their place.

Oftentimes this will lead to the realization that your problems are not as bad as you think they are.

It’s all about perspective!

Have a terrific Wednesday folks! – Oh, and don’t forget – I’m drawing for the winner of the current Quilty Box Gift-Away TOMORROW MORNING!  Get your entry in ON THAT POST.

Also - Happy Birthday to my brother Mark.  I miss you so much, but this first birthday with you gone is a bit emotional.  I love you.

  6. I missed my brother who passed last July the most on my Birthday this year. I wish I still had the recording of his call last year. He was the one who always remembered me. Great Mystery Quilts ! My GF is the fastest finish of the 7 Mysteries I've made with you. It's a hot porridge morning after shoveling again this morning. Soft, fluffy snow, but, I am so ready for Spring!

  7. Love all your quotes of the day. I will never forget a night 25 years ago in the children's hospital. After a very long emotional day, the other mom in the elevator at 2am said her child was in the organ transplant wing. Yes, it is all about perspective!

  8. Bonnie, I don't know how else to tell you about this vintage Bernina, please look at this blog. Her machine burned. https://getting-stitched-on-the-farm.blogspot.com Please read her March 5, 2019 post. This is important for sewing machine users.

    2. Wow. Thank you, JoAnne for the link. I don't have a vintage machine, but have my machine at home plugged into a surge protector that I turn on and off as needed. I hope that's the same as unplugging the machine.
