Cutting, Pressing, Stitching, Laughing!
All of these things were going on yesterday!
Midnight Flight from MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders was the workshop yesterday – the last of my 2018 tour year – and energy levels were SO high.
You know, we went back in time to check out just WHEN these dates were planned – the letter I received (hand written invitation at that time!) was dated 2013. We really DID wait 5 years for this date to arrive.
And that sometimes happens when a guild only meets the second Thursday of the month, and there are only so many second Thursdays to go around within any given year. FIVE YEARS! And yet it flew by so very quickly.
Putting pieces through!
Chain those four-patches, ladies!
We sent them all through “Dark Square First” so seams would all spin clockwise on the back side – and all four-patches would nest each other when block joins block in the quilt. You gotta Spin for the Win in this one!
It wasn’t long before four- patches were joined with triangles and more!
In all of the delightful colors!
Ooohhh how pretty!
Of course I know you are dying to know just WHO won the Good Fortune Mystery Bundles from The Cozy Quilter, aren’t you?
These color bundles were gifted as door prizes!
Each “Mystery Roll” has a retail value of $32.95 each – perfect for our upcoming Good Fortune Mystery that starts in just a couple of weeks! (Oh, I can’t stand the wait!!)
We grabbed the class list, assigned everyone a number, and let the infamous random number generator do the job of choosing just who was going to take this fabulous bundle worth more than $166.00 home.
Kathy Rudd!
I don’t think she looks happy enough, do you? LOL!!
She was beaming!
If you need to bump up your fabric variety for our upcoming mystery, pop on over to the Cozy Quilter website and check out the Mystery Rolls. If it fits, it ships!
Wonderful blocks, everyone!

Before we knew it, workshop day was done. Projects were packed up, machines put in rolling cases and carts and the mass exodus of quilters bidding fond farewells with hugs all around making our last moments bittersweet.
I’ll be back in Indiana in March for the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show. All 3 days of workshops are already sold out, and I’ll be counting down the short 4 months until I see many of these ladies again.
Last night’s round of sewing with Irene and Sherry in their room -
The BEST way to wind down a busy 3-day-whirlwind – machine piecing with GREASE as our soundtrack!
It is, however, kind of hard to sew when you have to stop to sing a song and do “the Hand Jive!” We laughed and laughed, and I admit there were times I was found dancing with the iron.
There is an AKC dog show going on – many folks with dogs staying here at the Drury Inn. If you heard dogs howling, it just could be due to our singing! LOL!
This is posting a bit earlier than usual this morning – my ride is picking me up at 7am to get me to the airport. I will have my feet back in North Carolina by 2pm. I don’t fly again until our January trip to Japan! That’s TWO MONTHS away from airports. Hooray!
I was reminded that Monday is a holiday and the post office will be closed so no orders will go out tomorrow, but I’ll have them filled and waiting for pick up on Tuesday.
quiltville Quote of the Day!
Vintage Shoo-Fly quilt belonging to Cathy’s Great Aunt.
When I think about this one, I have to think about this one again.
We can’t reach our destiny by doing nothing!
