You just can’t have a quilt workshop without some inspiring show & share to kick us back into gear after lunch time!
And the quilters who came for my 5 days of workshops in Utah sponsored by the Utah State Quilters Guild must have got the memo because the quilts, quilt tops and blocks in progress came out of the woodwork! SO EXCITING!
We gathered from all over – some from as far away as Arizona, Nevada, California, Idaho, as well as from all over the great state of Utah, so EVERYONE was sitting next to someone they never met before. This is everyone’s opportunity to say who they are, tell us a bit about themselves, and share their love of quilts with everyone else.
It’s my favorite time of the day because I get to know YOU! So if you are attending a Quiltville event in the future, remember that you don’t need an invitation to bring Show & Share, just do. It’s always welcome!
Here the “Idaho Contingency” is sharing a beautiful Garlic Knots finish! Oh, the colors! So exciting to see!
Yowza!! Knock your socks of gorgeous!!
Pineapple Blossom Finish!
From the Free Patterns tab.
I love the use of the bonus triangles in the top and bottom borders, turning it from square into rectangular! AWESOME!
PINK!!! This makes me so happy.
Janet O. brought several quilts!
This is her Smoky Mountain Stars – also from the free patterns tab.
You’ll see a close up when we get to our Quiltville Quote below!
Janet, it was such a pleasure to finally meet you in person – a real highlight!
Sarah also brought several tops and quilts!
The girl is a powerhouse of scraps!
This is her Bricks & Stepping Stones from the free patterns tab.
And a great string-happy Spider Web (Yes, free patterns tab!)
A glorious Celtic Solstice!
Check out this Lozenge Love!!
Lozenges was a previous Leader & Ender challenge, also now found under the free patterns tab. Have you made one?
Close ups! Weeee!
There were so many beautiful quilts, and I have combined them all into the little slide show below:
Amazing amount of talent from the inter-mountain west and beyond!
Last minute Auntie Time!
I have never seen a van packed so full in my life! Not only did it hold my two big suitcases and my backpack, but vacation gear for a family of 6 as my sister Mary’s family headed up to Idaho yesterday to spend some time in the mountains with my folks, and visit her hubby Kelly’s side of the family as well. My nephews Porter, Logan and Raiger and my niece Mykenzie hold big hunks of my heart! I love them to bits! (and their parents are pretty special too.)
Saying goodbye to the gorgeous Wasatch Front.
These mountains. WOW.
Hexie stitching from Salt Lake to Atlanta.
This border length is NEARLY long enough to fit one side of the mother ship – time to lay it out and see just what more is needed.
I woke up to this!
After so much high desert in Utah, I forgot how lush and green North Carolina is ---and LOUD! The frogs and crickets and other critters were singing quite the welcome home song when we pulled into the drive at 11pm last night. This morning I was awakened by the sweet sound of happy birds chirping their last-day-of-July melody.
No desert here!
My home sweet home in the woods.
I’m trying not to panic over all that has to be done in the next two days. I have today and tomorrow to get everything caught up, mail order out the door, and ready for my trip to Iowa and Minnesota on Wednesday.
And there is something else putting the squeeze on my heart:
Quiltville Quote of the Day.
