I’m headed out the door in a bit – I’ve got a driving trip – a long leisurely drive through the Carolinas to Hilton Head Island where I will be meeting with three guilds over the next sew days.
Palmetto Quilters of HIlton Head, Sea Island Quilters of Beaufort, and Maye River Quilters of Bluffton, I hope you are ready for a whirlwind of quilty fun!
While this cat’s away, I thought the mice would like to play with a Quilty Box Gift Away!
The January Box was on my doorstep when I returned home from my trip to Arizona, and it is full of ALL THINGS SPRING!
What is a Quilty Box?
- Quilty Box is a monthly subscription box of fun quilting supplies. We offer plans from $44-48/mo.
- 5% of the profits of multi-month subscriptions are donated to Quilts for Kids - a non-profit which donates quilts for children in need
- Each month we have 4 or more products (Fabric, patterns, thread, or notions)
- Our retail value of the products in the box is always more than $60
- February's Quilty Box will be curated by Christopher Thompson - The Tattooed Quilter.
- The next Quilty Box will ship around February 11th. Subscribers will need to purchase before February 10th to receive this shipment..

I love knowing that part of the proceeds go to benefit kids. To me that is a win/win all the way around!
Let’s take a look at what is in the January Box of Quiltiness:
We will draw for our winner upon my return home from South Carolina, Monday evening, Jan 23rd. Which is also my birthday, so that will be fun! Good luck, everyone!
And with that, I’m off to load my van, Moby and get on my way!

These colors make me so happy!
Roberth Kafuman Fabrics is delighted to introduce its new Kona Color of the Year for 2017: Pink Flamingo (I know my friend Lynn from Florida will be all over this one, she loves Flamingos!) This is a vibrant, clean and perfectly playful pink. Each year, Robert Kaufman Fabrics chooses and creates one new limited edition Kona Cotton color, which becomes the Kona Color of the Year. Pink Flamingo is only available through 2017 and will be retired at the end of the year. The Roll Up you see here has been custom created for the January 2017 Quilty Box. It is combined with two coordinating colors, Pomegranate and Buttercup, perfect for stitching up the included Pink Lemonade pattern also included in the January Quilty Box.
You’ll also find a Quilt Theory “Strip it Down” pattern by Stephanie Palmer included.

More goodies!
I am very interested in trying out the UNDO double tip seam ripper. I love how it feels – it’s grippy and comfortable in my hand. The enclosed text on the item card reads: “We believe this is the best seam ripper you’ll ever need. Ergonomic design, two size quality Japanese hardened steel blades to accomplish any job with protective caps and rubberized anti slip body. UNDO is a “Must have” notion in every sewing room.”
And this sounds like fun:
Bobbini Bobbin Holders: Keep your bobbins organized on top of color matching thread spools. Fits on all brands of home sewing and embroidery thread spools. Made of quality rubber that adjusts to any spool diameter. Wind thread twice around post before snapping the bobbin to prevent unwinding.
This box has been curated by Stephanie Palmer of QuiltersPlanner.com!
This is a great box full of goodies, and I’m offering it up to ONE LUCKY WINNER!
We will draw for our winner upon my return home from South Carolina, Monday evening, Jan 23rd. Which is also my birthday, so that will be fun! Good luck, everyone!
And with that, I’m off to load my van, Moby and get on my way!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Vintage quilt found in Chandler, Arizona.
I often think of alone time as time to recharge my batteries. We all need it. Some of our best ideas come to the surface when we have time to quietly listen.
Being alone doesn't make one lonely. It gives me distance from the voices of the world so I can hear my own. . No airports, no airplanes and cramped spaces, just me, my thoughts, and a beautiful drive.
Have a great Wednesday, everyone!
Yea for a January Box of Sunshine! Drive Safely. I now know how you feel to be upgraded to 1st class. My Birthday week flight got rescheduled and I got a better flight with less stops and the upgrade.
