I’m officially taking today off.
55 years ago today I entered this world kicking and screaming.
55 years later, I’m still kicking! That is something to celebrate.
I figure when one reaches the ripe old age of 55 that we can make our own mandates on what is going to happen on all future birthdays --
I’m taking the day off!
That means I am saving all of the great photos from yesterday’s Jamestown Landing workshop in Bluffton for tomorrow.
It was a rainy stormy awful drive from Bluffton to Columbia, SC last night with it coming down, thunder, lighting pouring rain and all.
I met with Jason and Jenny, and Jenny’s mom for dinner, and accepted an invite to stay the night so I was off the road for the rest of the storm.
This morning is my day to meander my way home, stopping at ANY and ALL Antique haunts along my way ---
Even GOOGLE says so!
Even the Beatles say so!
We will resume our regular blog programming tomorrow!
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
I’m so happy to be where life has lead me so far. I’m excited over what is yet to come.
And with that, I’m off to breakfast with my son and to enjoy this day!
Happy birthday & safe travels! Enjoy your special day! 🎉😍🎈🎉🎂🎈
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Bonnie. Enjoy your day to the fullest.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Hope you have a fabulous day and don't run in to any more storms on the way home. You "share" your birth date with my sister-in-law. She is also 55 today!

ReplyDeleteGood for you, you deserve it! Hope you have a great birthday.
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday! I have never met you but you were in my dreams the other night. You were at a house doing a show and I showed up wanting to meet you. You came out to meet me and gave me a craft storage box and invited me in. I was getting ready to come in but a dog had pooped all over the foyer and it stunk really bad. So I didn't come in because I was gagging from the smell. I hope some day I will meet you but without the dog pooping in the foyer. I know, STRANGE dream but you were so gracious and friendly just as I imagine you are to be. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! Enjoy your special day!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you! Have a fun day!
ReplyDeleteThe celebration was great, but the invitation to stay much better since it shows the love and concern. Hope you celebrate more and find great things to look at as you meander along!

ReplyDeleteYesterday was my wedding anniversary and i had a nice phone visit with my husband who is in California (where it is also raining hravily). I am home where we stll have lots of snow and sub-zero temps. Wish I were sewing today, but I'm off to babysit a 5 month old for a couple hours while his regular sitter has to be at her son's school. Just got a text from the mom adving me to bring extra clothes as the baby is "a little pukey" this morning. LOL.
Happy birthday to you Bonnie Hunter. May your day be filled with joy as you share it with those you love!!! It's my sons birthday today as well. woot! woot! Let the party begin.

ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Enjoy your "double nickel" year 🎈
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Bonnie! Enjoy your special day.......stroll, shop and eat at your favorite place. Anything you want to do.....do it!
ReplyDeleteThank you for everything you do for us quilters. You have changed how I make my quilts, the scrappier, the better. I love how every inch of fabric is used from cutting 1 1/2 inch squares to a bin for strip piecing and if it is too small for either of those, it goes into a bin to stuff pillows for furry friends at the animal shelters.
Enjoy your 55th birthday.......my 55th is coming this year too!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! May this coming year be the best one ever!
ReplyDeleteBonnie-Happy "double nickel" day to you! My husband made up the cutest bday card for me when I turned 55 (almost 11 yrs ago). He also said it appears that I don't have a birth"day" because I celebrate all month going to lunch with different people, getting cards and calls, just all around celebrating my whole birth MONTH. It makes for a special birthday each year! I pray that your "day" is strewn with family & friends; good eats; and surprises galore in the antique malls. You are such a special person, you deserve a extra special birthday. May it truly be a VERY special day!!! QuiltedDrummer (aka Cindy)

ReplyDeleteDo you have room for one more birthday wish? And many mooooooore! Love the Birthday song--loved the Beatles when I was a teen, and for some reason, the music has just gotten better over the years. My birthday was last week, and I danced along with the music when I played today on your post. Thanks so much for the music--and the pictures--and the laughter--and the love. Many more years to come, I hope.

ReplyDeleteI loved the quilt behind yesterday's quote. Is it an antique? Or yours? from one of your books, and if so, which one? I know gray is the new beige, but I'll always be partial to earth-toned color palettes. ;-)
Happy quilting and celebrating!
