A Mad City Mama kind of Day!

How fun is it for mothers and daughters, sisters and friends to come together to sew on New Year’s Day?

We pulled out our bins of 1 1/2’’ strips to quickly sew strip sets, destined for rail blocks and 25 patches without rhyme or reason – we were playing on the random side of the fence this day!

The main focus of our class was to sew in the new year by clearing out some space in our stashes….including the ugliest of the ugly strips, proving that really, truly, in this quilt EVERYTHING GOES!

Before class started, I did get a big surprise:

Allion came in with one corner of her Allietare put together:

Hooray!!

And yes, I brought Allietare to class!

I have seen many tops coming together in our Quiltville’s Open Studio group on Facebook already!  Pop on over and join if you aren’t a member yet.  It’s a ton of fun!  Of course, our next Mystery Monday Link-Up will be a great place to share your progress as we watch these beautiful quilts come together.

A Trio of Mad City Mamas raising ruckus!

The pattern for Mad City Mama is found in my book Adventures with Leaders & Enders.  Signed copies can be found in the Quiltville Store so you can join in the fun and make your own!

Sew, Ladies, Sew!

Go, Ladies, Go!

Trimming, cutting, slicing and dicing!

Fabulous, fabulous!

Look at all of this progress!

Shine on!

Oh, Sew Mighty Fine!!

There are more photos of our fun in the slide show.  Click the image below if you are unable to view it on your phone or mobile device.  You’ll be taken to the photo album for viewing.

Quiltville Quote of the Day!

I just had to put my favorite quote on a detail shot of our Allietare quilt.  This little piece of wisdom is on a little card that I keep above my kitchen sink where I can be reminded of it every time I wash dishes – hey, it’s probably the longest amount of time I ever stand in once place, so it is a good place for it!

It’s not who you ARE that holds you back -
It’s who you think you’re NOT.

Remember that!

Have a Great Saturday, everyone – I’m off to teach a Crab Apple Workshop to an anxious bunch of eager quilters today!

  1. Yea, I only have 1 of each done. And I found a yellow with a bit of blue and green in it to make me happy! I see green in Allisons too.

Thanks for telling about Quiltville's Open Studio on Facebook. I did not know about it and just went and joined. Gasping for breath at all the pretty stuff I have not seen and too bad I found it at lunch time. If anyone wants to eat they have to make it for themselves right now...I need to READ!

    Happy New Year, Bonnie

Thank you so much for the Quiltmaker Magazine that arrived while I was on Christmas vacation. I have spent many hours pouring over the patterns. Both the Giraffe and Koala patterns are on my list to do as well as your block. I look at your blog every day and enjoy it very much.

  5. Lot's of Eye candy Here and over on FB Quilt Studio! I am loving all the varied fabrics in the Allietare' Quilts. Scrappy was fun on parts of mine. I was thankful for the constants to pull it all together. The Ladies will be having loads of Scrappy Fun today, too. Crabapples has tiny scraps with lots of variety in it.

Wow! Love that Mad quilt! May have to do that one sometime. Just finished the 2014 Challenge top Christmas Eve (so I'm a year late, but at least it isn't a UFO), now awaiting borders it seems to want. I finally finished the lozenges while piecing box-kite blocks. Need 70 more of then to complete that top! Not really needing a 2016 challenge, have an entire box of 4 patches from many years of L2E-ing to put into something this year. And Allietare, that one is spectacular! I did the SMP tour of Tuscany a few years back, and will definitely finish this one, in 2016. Happy New Year to Bonnie and everyone else. Looking forward to the Plano mystery reveal and to see whqt is going to happen withe the green stripy and triangle blocks!

Hello everyone merry Xmas and a happy new year in arrears. My name is Elizabeth  from USA . If I refuse to share this testimony, it means I am selfish to myself and to people I love so much whom might have similar problems,my husband left home after a little misunderstanding and never came back home. At first, I thought it was a joke he left me for his mistress outside, all this happened in December 2015. I am sharing this testimony because of those that their husbands left them to be with another woman or vice versa and this 2016 is a good year for everyone and will be a very bad year if you don't spend it with your loved one's,so many men will left their wives and celebrate Christmas with their  girlfriend, I complained to my very good friend, she told me she was having such problems in her marriage until she was introduced to Dr.Collins,  a specialist doctor who specializes in bringing back broken homes and broken marriages. She gave me his email for me to contact him which I did.....I told him my problems and he told me the necessary materials that will be needed for the spell and asked to pay the sum of $2000 only but I insisted that I will pay him $5000 just to get my husband back but to my greatest surprise, he told me to please pay $2000 for the spell, he continued and said he is not a scam and show me pictures of his 15 estates he built and that he is well known in India and Egypt which I confirmed and that his works has been testified over the years on social media's and blogs and people that messaged him for their problems, he solved. He casted the spell for me in Dec 22nd and  surprisingly my husband came home Dec 24th apologizing that I should forgive him that this will never happen again. With this, I will never forget Dr.Collins who saved my marriage. To all those out there or those reading this and has been going through this kind of problem or any kind of problem or is seeking favour or looking for a job, any sort of problem or you have someone that needs help, feel free to contact Dr.Collins and your life will never remain the same. This is his Email Collinsbradfordsolutiontemple@yahoo.com  ,you can still save your marriage if you really love your husband or wife..
