ReplyDeleteI love homemade Raspberry Pie, I don't think there is anything better.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Portland., awesome gift bags.
I come from a long line of pie bakers. Had made every kind, but never raspberry. They are always very pricey here in St. Louis and come in little tiny boxes of one layer for around $4. But, one year the grocery stores had them, 10 boxes for $10. We ate ourselves crazy on fresh raspberries but couldn't keep up, because, as you know, they are so fragile and deteriorate so quickly. I got the idea to make a pie. Couldn't find a recipe specifically for raspberry pie, so I adapted the one I use for blackberry pie with less sugar. Worked great and it was absolutely, hands down, the most delicious pie ever!
DeleteCarrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Yum! Enjoy Portland ... wish I were there!

ReplyDeleteDo you remember? My favorite is the German cheesecake where I made in Stuttgart - Camberg last year. Have a nice day and thank you for all your time and giveaways!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite dessert is an old family favorite. We call it Lemon Chiffon Pudding, but I think it is also called Lemon Sponge. It is baked in a water bath and the mixture separates into two layers, a cake on top and a lemony sauce on the bottom. It is served warm with fresh, real whipped cream, and is so good. When we have it it brings back so many memories of Sunday dinners. My dad is a great cook, and he got the recipe from the aunt who raised him. She was a great woman, and I love remembering her through this dessert.
ReplyDeleteDessert is my second favorite thing in the world! Mine doesn't have a formal name as it's one my mom made up. We called it the vanilla pudding stuff, lol.
