Quilt While The Wind Blows!

What a full and busy weekend was had with the Sisters of the Stash in residence at Quiltville Inn!

There is plenty of quilting and good food at hand as Irene from Cotton to Quilts is catering all of the lunches and dinners for this venue!

That means no cooking for the quilters - it's delicious food and pampering all the way! (Did you see we even pulled out the GOOD china?)

She brought plenty of fabric color rolls for us to splurge on as well.

Irene hosts 3 quilt retreats here at Quiltville Inn throughout the year - March, June and October.

If you are a single person who doesn't want to cook - drop her an email HERE. Get yourself on her mailing list for future retreats.  We'd love to welcome you at Quiltville Inn!

Saturday's snow melted - but that didn't mean that temps improved!

It remained extremely gusty and cold through the weekend - but that was okay - we had good food, good fun, good friends, and enough fabric to go around to keep us going!

This also did include a Saturday evening excursion over to the Hotel Tavern in West Jefferson for dinner out with our besties.  Bundled up to get there and back, of course!

I also understand there was retail therapy for those who were raring to get out early and do a bit of exploring on their own - a trip to the antique mall here, a stop at the vendors mall and downtown shops there.

But in between it all, there was quilty productivity in every corner.

This corner is working on Cathedral Stars (Free Patterns tab!)

How festive are those hanging triangles?  LOL!

Michelle finished her Boho Heart!

And has Bitcoin in progress!

(Also available in the Quiltville Etsy Store)

Jacqueline is busy making Pine Tree Point.

I bet there will be borders on by the time I drop by this morning!

Isn't this pretty?

The fabrics are gorgeous!

This is a "3 yard" quilt - not sure which book or pattern, but I love how they work up quickly and are so great for giving and gifting.

If the weather is going to be abysmal outside, we can count on the sunshine and laughter filling up all of the corridors and corners here.

Meanwhile at the QPO -

Martha has a project!  And I shared a bunch of red strings with her so she could get going on it.  Which means I need more for what I am also working on!

Lola wanted to help pull fabrics from the "cut it down!" tub -

There was more pressing of pieces while watching Outlander on Starz.  Scorching hot does not only apply to iron against fabric but...well, you know.  LOL!

Pressed and cut into random widths for future (and current) string projects!

It must be kismet - look what appeared in Saturday's mail:

TWO phone books, one for each of the side-by-side inn and QPO mailboxes!

I was giddy with glee and stacked these at the bottom of the pile of phone books I cam currently working with.

And when I got home to the cabin - there was another in that mailbox too!  SCORE!

These may be thin in height, but they are the full page size and I greatly appreciate that.

Today is going to be a bit of a run around.  I got a ping on my phone yesterday to confirm an appointment for TODAY that I thought was next week.  It's today!

As stated often on Boston Legal - "Mad Cow Strikes Again!"

I'll take care of that late this morning and then be back by mid-afternoon to resume the last day with the Sisters of the Stash.  Hopefully the weather will be the best it can be, and we will catch that late afternoon sun as it hits the side porch for "quilts over the rail!" photos and all of the other things that happen at the last wind down of retreat.

I hope everyone had a good weekend - did you get some work done on Hearts 0f Hope Sew-Along, Part One?

  1. Sounds like a busy group and a lot of work going on in Quiltville, both the Inn and the QPO. I am working on my blue strings and trimming them to size after stitching. I giggle in glee too over the arrival of the phone books! I keep a stack on top of my cabinets. I was able to get two strips and three blocks per strip from my largest book, so cut a bunch and have been working away.

  2. Love those quilts, every one unique. Cold and windy here too in Massachusetts.
The thought for the day, Wow! Good to remember we are worth respect and care.
