Sisters of the Stash Bash!

The Sisters of the Stash arrived on Wednesday afternoon, and we took our best day of their stay (Thursday) to get out for a good long leg stretch down Bear Branch Road.

Things are greening up!  Temps were mild!

Zoey Jo and Mabel Mae came along for the journey!

And I am pleased to say that this is the LARGEST group I've ever had join me on a jaunt - there were 11 quilters and 2 dogs in attendance!

I love walking along the creek -

The sound of the moving water is so soothing.

If you wondered where the term Bull Pen came from -

Here you go!

This guy was huge.

And hugely curious!

This is where that old cabin rests -

And you can see the tail end of the old car toward the road on the right.

But that green, though!  YAY!

Mabel -patiently waiting for ladies to take the dang pictures and move on! LOL!

Photo op - old empty farmhouse!

It's a good thing we got out to enjoy this day -

Many in short sleeves.

Because yesterday!  Temps plummeted!

Hike out of the way, bad weather on the horizon, there is plenty of quilting and good food at hand as Irene from Cotton to Quilts is catering all of the lunches and dinners for this venue!

That means no cooking for the quilters - it's delicious food and pampering all the way! (Did you see we even pulled out the GOOD china?)

She brought plenty of fabric color rolls for us to splurge on as well.

Irene hosts 3 quilt retreats here at Quiltville Inn throughout the year - March, June and October.

If you are a single person who doesn't want to cook - drop her an email HERE. Get yourself on her mailing list for future retreats.  We'd love to welcome you at Quiltville Inn!

Saturday night is a special night out - tonight we are headed over to West Jefferson for dinner out (included with the retreat) to the Hotel Tavern for some fun.  Will there be music and dancing?  We'll have to see!

Yesterday's kick off of our Hearts 0f Hope Sew-Along Part One was fantastic!

I am so excited that YOU are so excited!

I have added the link to Part One under the Hearts 0f Hope Sew-Along tab at the top of the blog.

You will also find the French and German PDF copies linked on the Part One post.  Elisabeth sent the translations last evening, and I uploaded them this morning to make them available.

It thrills me that so many are participating.  Remember to tag your photos on social media with #heartsofhopequilt and #quiltersforukraine.

Oh, in another crazy unpredictable turn of events:

This is what I woke up this morning.

AUUGHHHH!

Somehow I don't think the daffodils are happy right now.  Neither am I.

But the sun is now out and shining and I don't think this is going to stick around - gone by this afternoon I bet,

Still, I think the quilters will be staying inside through the weekend.

So am I!

Quiltville Quote of the Day -
Vintage spider web quilt found in Kentucky.

I was reading the words of Shannon L Alder last night and this just stuck with me so strongly.
This is right up there with doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting a different outcome.
You may think that someone else is to blame, but it could be your own reaction to what you conceive to be the problem that is causing the problem.

I have realized some of this craziness in my own life. Time to make a change.
What can you do to switch up the situation? Be proactive!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
