From Design Floors to Design Walls and More!

Phyllis got her Grassy Creek top assembled on retreat at Quiltville Inn!

This tickles me so much - I just LOVE seeing these quilts come together.

Sometimes it's hard to see from a paper pattern just how the pieced borders complete the design at the edge of the quilt before the final borders are put on.

So I grabbed my OWN Grassy Creek from one of the bedrooms upstairs and we spread it out so she could see how her pieces go.

I'm a visual person too, and it was great to see the two quilts side-by-side!

Gerri's tumblers are growing!

She is using her Civil War scraps for this quilt made of SMALL tumblers - I think they are only 1 1/2'' tall.  it's going to be wonderful when she is done.

Anita's on the design wall!

This setting is fantastic!

Wild & Goosey from the Addicted to Scraps book on the design wall!

And the beginnings of a Lori Holt sampler.

I love the candy canes!

Saturday Afternoon with the Ponies!

Diane and I headed up to Grayson Highlands - hiking on the Appalachian Trail has been on her bucket list and now she can say she has!

Aren't these colors rich!  I can't wait for green to come, but the russets are so gorgeous against that blue sky.

We saw at least 10 different ponies out and about.

Zoey & Mabel were SO GOOD!

This baby is growing bigger!

We enjoyed our outing!

Sunflower shirt by Kate Spain benefitting World Central Kitchen in their help for Ukraine found HERE.

My own weekend sewing was fits and starts.  Or fits and stops?  It was just a BUSY weekend, but I did get some time to work some more on these units:

I'm having fun with them as time allows.

It's a LONG term project - very back burner, but kind of mindless and I'm loving the scrappiness of both the string backgrounds and the corner triangles.

How many of you are ready for FRIDAY!??

Here it is - Our Hearts of Hope quilt!

Quilt Size: 56'' X 56''

The biggest thig of all was our kickoff of our Hearts 0f Hope Sew-Along with the introductory post going live Last Friday. The response has been phenomenal!

Part one will be available this coming Friday 3/25/22.

Thank you for your continued efforts in donating to our Quilters For Ukraine GoFundMe.

If your guild or group makes our Hearts of Hope quilt - perhaps they can do it as a "donation" quilt (otherwise known as raffle but renamed for those whose laws state they can't say raffle.) with all funds going to our GoFundMe, Quilters For Ukraine.

Instead of purchasing a pattern for Hearts of Hope from me - my own hope is that you will donate as little as $10.00 to Quilters For Ukraine simply because you are participating in this Sew-Along.

Every little bit is helping.  ALL of this will be going directly to Together Rising in their continued efforts to provide real support - boots on the ground support - for the people of Ukraine.

The response on our March '22 PDF pattern releases has been fantastic!  Thank you so much!

The Quiltville Etsy Store has been busy for those who prefer to order from Etsy and like the way that PDF patterns are delivered.

Just remember that you need to download your files through your computer browser after logging in to your account. It doesn't work from the app.

I will slowly as time allows put up other PDF patterns there as well.  Right now there are just the most recent dozen or so.  I have added an Etsy tab to the top of the blog for easy access.

The patterns for Monkey Business and Bear Branch are both marked 25% off in the digital pattern section of the Quiltville Store and the Quiltville Etsy Store.  No coupon needed.

Save even more with the Monkey Business & Bear Branch Pattern Bundle, only available for a limited time, through 3/31/22.

Of course, digital patterns, books, rulers, notions and other goodies as well as PDF patterns are available as always in the Quiltville Store on my website.

Did you enter the gift away yet?

Our Drawing happens THIS COMING SATURDAY!

I will be drawing for TWO winners who will each receive the Monkey Business & Bear Branch Pattern Bundle with one winner receiving a Facets of Brown Color Roll, and the second receiving a Facets of Aqua color roll from Cotton to Quilts!

Winner must have fabric prize shipped to a USA address.  If you are outside of the USA, we can send it to a friend within the USA who can forward it on to you.

Head on over to the Gift-Away post and enter to win.

I'll draw for our two winners next Saturday, 3/26/22.

The Valley Quilters are packing it all up and heading home today.  So you know what that means for me - LAUNDRY DAY!

Also a mammogram this afternoon.  Have you scheduled yours yet?

And while I'm out I'm shipping 3 quilts to the New England Quilt Museum for our String Theory Exhibit there!  I'll let you know more details when I have them, but if you are anywhere near - you'll want to go see this exhibit in person!

The Sisters of the Stash will be arriving on Wednesday afternoon to begin their retreat week.

And in between everything I'm getting Part One of Hearts of Hope ready for our Sew Along to begin.

How do things look for your week ahead?

Quiltville Quote of the Day -

Remember the last time that someone made you feel valued and appreciated?
Give that gift to someone who needs it today.
The way we make people feel means a lot more than anything we say, and that goes for both good and bad.

Have a terrific Monday!

  2. How fun to have your Grassy Creek within reach to compare abd show her how it goes together. You're kindness is always something I will never forget from the Workshop and Retreats I attended with you. 2013 and 2017 were banner years for me because of the things I learned with you! Happy Quilt Show Week. Our Tri-Cities Quilt Guild Show is celebrating 40 years with Red and White Quilts. Also Black and White Quilts with one color added Challenge. I can hardly wait!

  3. Hi my Dear, have fun at your mamo today. Just a funny little story My mom was in her 80's when she had her first mamo, and after it was done she told the ex- ray tech " Now I know what a grilled cheese sandwich feels like".
Prayers for a reading I'm going to sit in the sunshine and hand quilt for an hour ,before I have to fix dinner

  5. I am only a few minutes from the Quilt Museum...if you mean the one in Lowell MA! Will definitely take a ride there if your quilts are there! (Although I would rather see them at Quiltville Inn!!:) )
