Yesterday was our first workshop day at the Vermont Quilt Festival.
If you have been to the festival in years past, but not recently –the workshop location has changed venues!
No longer at St Michael’s college due to an increased summer school schedule that didn’t leave room for hundreds of quilters hogging classroom space, we have relocated to the Vermont Technical College!
Convenient, close parking, and buildings placed all around a central quad, it is easy to find where your class room is – either it’s North, East, South or West buildings!
And best of all – there is air conditioning!
Yes, the air conditioning was in full form yesterday, look at these two friends huddled in their hoodies!
But no one is complaining, we’ve had it the OTHER way where it was 90+ degrees inside an un-air-conditioned class room in June, sweltering.
Hoodies are no problem!
And our best dressed student award goes to….SUSAN!
Check out her spiffy selvage strings skirt, scissors logo shirt, and those shoes!! What a fun gal, you’ll be seeing more of Susan in future posts!
These ladies had a load of fun, and got quite a bit done thanks to pre-cutting before class!
Great job girls!
Not enough room to back up and get the full quilt in the photo..
Aren’t these blocks going to make a great quilt?

You'll find the pattern for Texas Tumbleweed in my book MORE Adventures with Leaders & Enders available in my Quiltville's Store!
It’s been a wild couple of days with busy evening activities. Wednesday was my travel day, and an evening meet & greet ---no evening blog post. Last night was the awards ceremony after workshops were over, and the gala opening of the show – no evening blog post.

I promise to catch you up – right now I’m running in all directions to be where I need to be between the tech college and the expo center, about 20 minutes away ---
But I did catch you this from last night – the most glorious Vermont sunset EVER:
It’s a quilter’s palette of color!
Much love from Vermont!
Wow Bonnie, that is a beautiful sunset. Don't worry about sharing everything with us right now, just enjoy your time there and have fun with it. We will always be here for you. Enjoy your trip, the quilt show, the classes, and all the wonderful quilters you get to meet.

Awesome, beautiful sunset!
ReplyDeleteWhat perfect timing. I'm here in western Nebraska, finishing up last 2 blocks to Texas Tumbleweeds, AKA Tornadoes and Tumbleweeds! Was so pleased it all went together so well, that is if one remembers which way to sew the triangles ... 8-)) Messed up on half a dozen, no big deal. Seams met well, barely used any pins at all. Once again, Thanks Bonnie!
