And the Show & Share came and inspired all!
While never formally announced, yet always anticipated – if you come to one of my workshops, PLEASE bring anything that you want to share with others.
We do a fun a quick show & share at the end of our lunch break, giving us a chance to know each other just a bit better, and it was WONDERFUL since we had folks join us from as far away as south Georgia (Nearly Florida!) Myrtle Beach, Charleston and all around.
I love to see what you’ve been making!
Isn’t this Santa Fe String Star from String Fling just gorgeous?
Well done, Gilma!
And oh, that quilting texture! My fingers just want to reach out and touch the photo from where I sit.
Allietare Finish!
This one belongs to Julie, and we all laughed and laughed as she related the story of finally finishing the top, getting it to and back from her long arm quilter, and racing to get the binding on so it would be finished before our workshops. Only AFTER binding did she notice that something was different – she forgot to do the scallops in her haste. LOL! Oh Julie, it’s perfect just as it is!
And two more -
I think we put Ringo Lake, Spicer Minnesota on the map with this mystery!
Ladies, these are just wonderful.
Tumelo Trail from Scraps & Shirttails II!
Oh, I love this! That piano key border is so perfect.
Crabapples from Adventures with Leaders & Enders!
Rail Fence Leader & Ender Challenge! So much fun.
Hour Glass Leader & Ender finish!
I love how she set these with a 9 patch in the center…so scrappy!
Julie’s HUGE Tumbler Leader & Ender!
Doesn’t this look like a Valentine’s box of chocolates? BEAUTIFUL!
En Provence! Can you see the spiral quilting?
Look at this!
She did it on her domestic sewing machine with a walking foot. LOVE the circles!
Grand Illusion! Julie, you are amazing!
Punkin’ Patch!
This quilt was featured in the Sept/Oct 2017 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine, and my expanded directions will be included in my new book – currently set with a December 2018 release date.
I just loved seeing the quilts that these wonderful ladies brought from far and wide, and it inspired us all to get busy on projects started, not yet finished – not to mention get back to the projects at hand in our workshops!
Yesterday afternoon melted away as I headed off to a much needed massage, only to arrive at the regular location I’d been going to for years, and find a huge ‘WE HAVE MOVED!” sign on the front door.
3 minutes before appointment time!
I called them up as I was driving, stating “I made this appointment yesterday and no one told me you had moved. I am on my way. You will not cancel my appointment, and you will not short me on the time I am allotted either!”
Let me just say that it took a few minutes of intensive massage touch to unknot the nerves that one little mistake had caused. They could have – should have let me know. They have only been in the new location for 2 weeks. Whew.
Pet the fabric, Bonnie – and all will be okay!
My friend Lisa at Bear Hug Quiltworks has moved into her new studio space, a wonderful building just outside her back door in Winston Salem. No, it’s not a quilt shop, but could be! It was good to catch up for a bit before heading back to the “must do’s!” at home.
And this is where you’ll find me for today’s Quilt-Cam!
Meet me in Facebook as I go live from the basement studio with this obsession.
Shooting for full size and getting there – slowly.
You’ll find the feed on my Quiltville Facebook Page at 2pm Eastern. If you are there EARLY, you may have to refresh the page to see it. If you miss it, it will be embedded in tomorrow morning’s blog post with all of the other nitty gritty that comes with it.
Also a heads up! The 25% off ALL DIGITAL PATTERNS sale in the Quiltville Store is only good through today. Use Coupon Code DIGITAL25 at purchase to redeem. Don't forget! No refunds if you do.
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Blue Ridge Beauty quilt shared during last week’s Florida visit.
Stand firm in knowing who you are. You were meant to stand out, not be the same as everyone else.
Be an original – not a carbon copy!
Have a wonderful Sunday, and I’ll see you this afternoon!
Always love your newsy posts. Yay for being YOU! Looking forward to Quilt Cam this afternoon! Hugs, Allison in Plano, Texas USA
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Bonnie! So much energy in today's post. And I was happy to hear a publication date for the new book -- I suspect a couple projects I sooo want to make are going to be in there. Looking forward to today's webcam. It's always fun and informative.
ReplyDeleteI just love the pumpkin quilt- don't have any littles but might have to make one for me anyway.
ReplyDeleteI love Gilma's interpretation of your Santa Fe string star quilt. Great job Gilma!
ReplyDeleteDidn't get home in time from church to catch QuiltCam live! I'll have to watch the rerun. Thank you, Bonnie, for brightening our day with Bonnie-isms!
ReplyDeleteJulie is my amazing sister!! She does such wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteI watched the end of Quiltcam. Didn't get to share what I worked on yesterday. Great Show N Share as always. I will never forget our Megan Show n Share at the Bonnie Hunter Retreat at Royal Ridges last year.
