Time Out.

rainbow-in-the-clouds-15621
I awoke this morning to a text message from my son Jason.

I hadn’t heard the news he was asking about.

I had to go searching.

I had just woken up, so things were bleary and my heart was pounding trying to find out what had happened.

Life is like that.  We always THINK we have time to tell those we love that we do love them.

We think there is time to mend fences, to reconnect, to make memories ---

But we don’t.  Things can change in the blink of an eye.

You may remember my mom’s sister, my Aunt Joy who was on the Alaska cruise with me last July.  We are only 5 years apart in age and I worshiped her growing up. She was the older sister I never had.

Through google I found out some details I didn’t want to read.

Her son, my cousin Andy was killed in a motorcycle accident last night.

We are gutted.  Senseless.

I don’t have any more details.

But I feel the need to take a couple days off of social media.

I will return, but right now, my thoughts are with my family.

Quiltville Quote of the Day

My heart is reeling. If you still have your parents, call them, forgive them, love them. The same thing with your siblings. Any rift needs to be mended.  Reach out and talk to your children. Life is busy, and we always think we have more time. The fact is, we don't.

We really don’t.

  138. Bonnie... My heart and my prayers go out to you, your aunt, your family, and anyone affected by this senseless tragedy. As a biker myself it absolutely devastates me EVERY single time I hear of another mother, father, grandma, grandpa, cousin, aunt, uncle, child, and ANYTHING else I may have overlooked... It is devestating and completely unnecessary... If we all just slow down a little bit, think of others, be more selfless, be more careful, and just look out in general please please don't drive drunk, drinking, tired, distracted, texting, and ANYTHING else that could possibly keep us from paying attention properly... This could save someone's life and saving one life is HUGE! Again Bonnie I am so sorry for your loss and hugs and prayers for you all.

  181. Oh Bonnie I am so sad for you and your family. Our across the street neighbor's daughter lost her husband to a motorcycle crash in Oregon. She came home with her two little ones minus their father. By all means tell your family that you love them.

  183. Dear Bonnie please take as much time off as you can to be with family. All of this will be here when you come back. Give the hugs and kisses. Cry the tears. Say I love you to those you love, even to those you may not love, but need to be loved at this time. Take care of yourself and your family. We will all be all right. We all want to be with you right now to hug you and tell you we love you and Dave and the boys. Rick and Debi
