Happy Birthday to these two who made a special birthday trip to come spend the day in our Pineapple Blossom workshop hosted by the Ninigret and Narragansett Bay quilters of Rhode Island!
How fun to be a part of their birthday celebration! They even had time to grab an early birthday lobster dinner in between the workshop and my guild presentation last night.
Thanks for the fun, girls!
A very very happy birthday to the both of you!
It was a very very busy full workshop day!
And also what we call a “Double Duty” day with my last lecture happening in the evening as well. It was Sew, Sew, Sew, Go, Go, Go and we filled it full.
49 quilters chatting, stitching, laughing –—the energy level in the room was high, and it was so fun to wander around the room and see the fabrics that each had chosen for their own projects.
Gorgeous!
Lovely blues and neutrals!
Looking good!
Another gorgeous vintage Bernina, 1970’s kitchen mixer styling!
This kind of fun happens in class!
You’ll find the rest of our fun in the short slide show below. I was so busy running from one side of the room to the other and breaking the room in half to do demos that my photos are not as plentiful, which means you can get through them quickly!
It’s been an amazing time in Rhode Island. I’m headed home this morning, will be home by dinner time, and back in my own bed tonight.
I have just about a week home and during that week plan to work on the mystery as much as possible, getting it ready for yardage requirements and colors release at the END of October. Can you feel the excitement building?
Random thoughts on Quilt-Cam:
Google Hangouts Live is what I have used for Quilt-Cam in the past. They have now moved over to using just YouTube for Live Streaming events, and I am unfamiliar with the format and need to get into it and find out how it works before I know how we are going to continue. I don’t know if it will have the same capability to embed the feed into a blog post the way I have in the past. If I can’t embed the feed, what I will have to do is shoot out a blog post telling everyone to go to my YouTube Channel to watch the feed live, and then after it is over and saved to YouTube, I can then imbed the feed into the post for the archives after-the-fact. I just don’t know.
Just when we think we’ve got it down to a science, they change the format and we are scrambling to figure it out and have it look like we are not struggling in the process.
I’ll likely do a “TEST” Quilt-Cam just to see what happens when I press “go-live” and what we can do with it. And if I make a fool out of myself and it looks stupid, there is always the DELETE button! LOL! Let’s hope it is an easy switch over.
Quiltville Quote of the Day!
Follow your own muse with blinders on. Can I get an Amen?

ReplyDeleteI was looking through " scraps and shirt tails " last evening when I was to tired to sew and once again read your "How many quilts"
I so agree with everything it says as I just quilt because I need to :)
Absolutely AMEN!
ReplyDeleteI hope the new format is not a nightmare for you.
I just hate it when something works so well and it is randomly changed into something that doesn't work at all!
And I just love QuiltCam!
I think I missed something. Is there another Quilt Cam happening soon? I hope so!
